Nothing much gets me down really Mondo, I didn't say it did. It just happens sometimes.

Of course people's behaviour, intolerance, cruelty, selfishness, racism, etc, and their 'The world owes me something', never miss a chance to complain' attitude depresses me, but not on the way you mean.

In my experience, most people, myself included, get depressed first, and then cast around for something to blame it on later.

If it just said "Adobe Air needs a update" I would be fine with it, but it has to get all dramatic and say "Adobie Air, update status critical".

Critical updates are where they find something seriously wrong with their software that needs fixing quickly.  Using the word critical just lets you know that you should really do something very soon and shouldn't just spend the next 2 months ignoring it.  I'd really prefer it if they let me know this one was different to a standard update, even if I find the word a bit overdramatic.

In about 2 hours time, his software will shut down because he failed to press a little button when asked. Then he'll want to start a thread asking for help, & will get all mardy when someone gives him a dose of his own.

Adobe Air needs a critical update every day apparently, and my phone asks me to update apps that I don't use and don't want but can't delete.

It also asks me to update apps that are working fine and if I do update them it often makes them worse.

I updated google maps and it stopped google navigation from giving the name of the road it was directing me to turn in to. i.e, the command: "In 300 yards, turn left on to Salamander Rd" became simply, "Turn left".

In that instance I was able to uninstall the update, but sometimes it's not possible.

Why can't I have messages like "I say old chap, would you mind terribly if I asked you to please install this update when you get a moment free? I wouldn't normally bother you on a Sunday morning, but actually this one is rather important."

You're right of course, what a fool I am. I will update Adobe Air immediately.

MAYBE WE COULD WIDEN THE TEXT BOXES SO PEOPLE WHO TYPE IN CAPITALS OR BIGGER FONTS HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF SPACE TO TYPE IN AS OTHERS.



ps. I am not willing to pay any sort of admin charge for someone to widen these boxes

I wouldn't bother to update it, about the only thing that uses it is sky poker, at least that is the only application that pesters me to update it.
