The poles are in 3 or 4 parts too so it fits in a small bag. Looks like they have a black one on the website too.

Not the greatest of pics as I didn't have my specs on, however.

My basic Basha Kit:

1 x DPM Tarp ( I have guy cords attached to each corner
Selection of differing sized bunjees
Pegs,
Poles - I have six interlocking wooden ones but for these I just used my walking poles which are adjustable so for the lean-to means I can adjust height also

First one, set low for windy or rainy times.

Simply stretched between 2 trees ( Used bunjees here but some have attached para cord to the central portion) and secured with pegs at each corner

Second example, same attachment between 2 tress however lifted higher to allow more space underneath, ideal without too much rain or wind. Securing the corners by the guy ropes.

The traditional Lean-to. Again secured between 2 trees, however only pinned down at 2 corners and the front raised using my walking poles. Most walking poles have rubber caps at bottom which when removed reveals a spiked end. They are also adjustable which allows me to lower or raise the height of the lean-to

Thanks for taking the time to do that Geo, visuals are such a great help.

Can you manage OK without the trees? i.e. Just one tree, or perhaps a fence?

You can use the poles as the central supports instead of trees. Again  against a tree or a wall you can always do what Jack and I did

A great time for me after a bad period and I've been intending to do something similar each year since, sadly work tends to get in the way.

I'll find something to do shortly.

Some great pics Geo, cheers!

I've a tarp 3m x 3m, so would hope to get the bike a bit sheltered as well, with the bike being the back wall to the lean to & the walking poles holding the front up... need to get the bike to try it.

Red, a problem with the plan - you need a full Motorbike license to drive on the continent. I'm looking to have mine y next summer, but maybe a trip round hte Welsh coast, or into the highlands next year instead if you're not too interested in getting the full thing.

Bugger!

Always intended to do some UK trips first, perhaps starting with an overnighter in someones garden, moving on to a couple of days wild camping, then a week etc... Baby steps, but want to go abroad eventually.

Ah well, If I have to get a full license then I will. Do I have to go on an expensive course or can I do it myself?
