Use your money to improve your lifestyle, not your status. Status is the life other people believe you live; lifestyle is the life that you actually live.

Free time is the ultimate status symbol and choice is the grandest lifestyle.

Not done yet eng. I have to fit new taps, new skirting, and 'adapt' a cupboard to make it go where it isn't supposed to.

Great looking job Tom but one question immediately springs to mind.

Do you think it might be a good idea to curve those sharp looking corners?

I am speaking as someone who's DIY limit is changing a light-bulb and with absolutely no idea how difficult that might be.

Fair point Ralph, (No pun intended) but they are slightly rounded, they are in the lee of the bowl and they are well below a gentleman's vulnerable equipment level.

Very professional job

If only I could do it at a professional speed. It takes me all day to do two hours work.

I was listening to Desert Island Discs last night and the castaway was a Nobel prize winning psychologist.

He said that they did an experiment where randoms were asked to wager £10 on the toss of a coin. Almost none wanted to do it at even money and although you would expect a good uptake at around £11/12 the vast majority wanted almost £20 against their £10 before they would bet.

He said that people fear losing more than they like winning and it was scalable to the extent that in a war, people fight far harder to keep the things they have always had rather than the things they hope to take.
