I was about to finish the story when a visitor rocked up.
Seat belts are incredibly strong, when had a lorry and Hiab I used to buy scrap cars and I used to pull the front belts out through the side windows and use them to lift the car.

Even though its really strong, a seat belt is easy to cut with a sharp knife.
Anyway, back to my stuck camper.
I tried deflating the front tyres and putting some wood under the wheels but it didn't work.
I was home alone but in no danger so I had no intention of cutting my seat belts out. I did however have a rope to hand so I rigged up a simple pulley.
I made a loop, anchored one end, tied the other end to the camper, poked a stick through the rope and started winding.
As the camper started to creep towards me I silently scoffed at the bloke in the film...

Mid scoff, my stick snapped. One end flew a few hundred feet straight up into the air, the other end, still trapped in the rope, whizzed around like a propeller and battered my left hand to a pulp, breaking my wristwatch in the process.
Just when I thought it was all over the piece that flew into the air came down again and hit me on top of the head.
At that point, I stopped scoffing at the bloke on the telly and waited for someone to come and tow me out.

As usual with these things it stiffened up overnight and was was pretty sore the following day but nothing was broken except my watch-strap, my stick and my spirit.
Suffice to say I won't be playing Rach 3 on the old Joanna for a while.

Amazing story, & I can just picture that stick whizzing round like a helicopter blade.
It's lucky you have such chubby fingers, saved you from potentially broken bones.

Ooh, good thinking.
Proper karma that, for his persistent moleism.

For some reason your pics aren't working for me Tom, but I've pictured it pretty well in my imagination
Shame you didn't have anything stronger in the car, like a tyre iron....

Of course I should have used a tyre iron.
I blame this blonde haired, blue eyed beauty. Gorgeous, but not too bright.
