When ever I dig, Poppy digs as well. I don't know whether she thinks she's helping me or I'm helping her.

Watching The Responder last night when Mrs R commented, "He's got angry shoes".
I couldn't understand what she was on about, then it dawned on me...

I was playing golf today at Wollaton Park in Nottingham with one of my regular partners and another guy who I'd not played with before, a very nice guy around 50ish and during the round we got chatting as you do and it turns out his parents live in a village near Hinckley. Not just any village though, the same village that you live in!
Do you know the Claytons?
I also saw some Egyptian goslings for the first time ever and took a couple of pics which I shall attempt to post on here shortly.

Many of you will be jumping to conclusions there, but for the record, no, it was not me.
More seriously, it's SO wonderful to be on golf courses at this time of year, wildlife everywhere you look. Hope you had a good round Ralph & there are no golfing after-effects from your broken wrist last year.
Oddly enough, I saw some Egyptian goslings on Breadsall Priory on Thursday, & I attempted to take a few 'photos too. I'll try & post them later.

I managed to post a goslings pic on Twitter but when I tried to upload the same pic on here it said it was the wrong format.

It’s not just golf courses Tikay
I now drive for Ocado 6 weeks ago in the sticks south east of Lincoln near Digby - I think early one morning 0630 ish a white barn ? Owl flew across my route and obv I slowed down to take a look , it landed and sat perched on a fence post
Then after delivering to a remote house at a farm I was driving along the raised track with hares in the field either side of me ,some 50 m in front of me one started running across the field up the bank across my route it then vaulted a dyke ,ran up to another hare they both stood on their back legs and started boxing after which they resumed grazing
It really was quite magnificent

Tonytats asked me to add these photos to the post he made on Tony (tikay's) blog.
I'm sure he means the above post, if not my apologies.
He also sent a nice video but I can't post that.

Ralph.
I'm so sorry for the late reply, I don't open my diary as often these days and I missed your post.
(I have actually had my diary open but I was looking at some historic stuff, I didn't expect anything current)
Anyway, in belated answer to your question, no, I don't know the Claytons.
Great pic of the Egyptian geese/goslings BTW.

Thanks for the 'photos tonytats & Red.
Wow, I'd LOVED to have seen that Owl. Think I've only ever seen 2 or 3 in the wild, though I did visit Kirkleatham Owl Centre (an Owlery?) in North Yorkshire a few years agio where they have owls of every shape & size.
Hares? Saw a giant hare on Breadsall Priory GC earlier this week, never realised quite how big they are.
Managed to get a photo of some geese & goslings too, will try & upload them in the next few days. Not as good as Ralph's photos but good enough, it's the memory that counts.
