Why German Dave?
I picked up a smattering of German, mainly through reading lots of Sven Hassel when I was a teenager.
It mostly consists of words like schweinehund, dummkopf, and schnell.

you're forgetting hande hoch, achtung and raus! raus!
I took to visiting Vienna for three or four weeks for a few years pre-covid. The weather was good for wandering around and they had two quite big poker rooms. So I started to learn a it of german then. After the covid break the card rooms shut down. There were some new regulations brought in that only licensed casinos could do poker comps, so the rooms never re-opened.
One of my sisters in law is german and my two nephews speak it, so I've kept up the learning, after a fashion. At Xmas I was down at my brother's and his mother-in-law was over and she speaks very little english, but we were able to have a little bit of conversation which was good. She's ninety years old and I only mentioned the war once, but I think I got away with it.

So Trump has threatened to sanction America's allies if they don't agree to support his annexing of Greenland.
Has he finally, finally gone too far?
I know the list of things he has gotten away with up to this point (not least in his own country) is astonishing, but surely this is the line in the sand.
Even his own party members must be getting twitchy now.
Remember a few months ago when the former TV personality and now secretary of defence.. strike that, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth gathered all the absolute top military Brass under one roof and told them how useless they were? Well I wonder if any seeds were sown that day?
Would it ever be possible for Trump to be overthrown by a military coup?

Only another three years to go. It's been an eventful first year.

Mrs Red occasionally goes away with the girls for a week and I used to find it far too much trouble to cook "proper" meals for one, so my diet was very limited. Nowadays however the quality of supermarket "Ready meals" made to cook in the microwave, has come on on leaps and bounds. So much so that many are restaurant quality.
Combine this with the versatility of the air fryer and the chuck anything in and add a stock cube genius of the slow cooker and I'm all set.
I just need a machine for sewing buttons on and I won't need a wife at all.

I'm genuinely worried Ralph. I think we are very close to the shit hitting the fan.

The trouble is Tom, nobody is standing up to him apart from some demonstrations about ICE, so he keeps doing more and more outrageous stuff.
Has it ever been clearer what a huge misstep brexit was?

The trouble is Ralph, people actually believed Boris when he said we would save £350 million a week and give it to the NHS, and they thought anyone who wasn't white would be sent back to "where they come from".
I bet they were shocked when they didn't see kids playing football on empty streets and bobbies riding around on bicycles everywhere the following week.

Jesus all this turmoil he's caused in just one year, thought he'd been in office longer than that.
