Can anyone remember when it became normal for girls to show so much flesh?
I saw a young lady yesteday who's jeans were so low cut that I could see her G-string back AND front.
In my day, if you saw that much, you would have to marry her.
(Sorry, no pics this time)

I wish I liked sushi, this looks like so much fun
Kaitenzushi (the restaurants with the revolving conveyor-belt selling sushi) are the Japanese equivalent of fast food (along with your noodle and Okonomiyaki places).
It really is brilliant food, and the way you eat is also excellent. You come in and take a spare seat at the 'bar'. In front of you there is often a tap for hot water that you can use for your free green tea to accompany your meal.
As for the food, you watch it go round on a conveyor-belt in front of you and you just grab what you want. There are usually 10 or so 'regular' dishes, but some places have lots more. Even the Japanese who eat there regularly might not know what the less common dishes are, so what they do is have 'mihon' - which is plastic food that looks just like the real thing with a label on those plates that tell you what the food is. Of course, you can also ask the sushi chefs who are in the middle of the conveyor-belt making up new sushi. If there's a dish you want but there isn't one on the belt you can just should out "a plate of sea bass sushi" and within 20 seconds a plate of your order will be placed in front of you.
Sushi is not raw fish. Sashimi is raw fish. Sushi is the rice that is flavoured with a special vinegar, sugar and salt. It's usually topped with sashimi, but there are other popular toppings inclusing vegetarian options and even omelette.
At a kaitenzushi, all the sushi is served on a small plate that is a specific colour. This colour determines the price, and you can see a colour chart on the wall to see how much each one is. When you're done, you get out of your chair and a waitress comes over and counts up the plates and gives you the bill and you pay on the way out.
Me and a friend used to frequent a really good kaitenzushi in a city called Mito. Quite a popular place at lunch times, and we'd became fairly well known in there. In fact they called us "sushigadaisukigaijin" - the foreigners who love sushi.
The YoSushi places in the UK are poor imitations of the real thing, and they're bloody expensive as well.

What food does anyone else like that wouldn't be considered "Run of the mill"?

Is that meant to say "I am a man of many talents"?
You certainly are.
Briefly returning to the sushi, my favourite type (and often the most expensive choice) is 'toro'. Toro is the fatty under-belly of tuna, and just melts in the mouth. It was usually 4 or 5 times more expensive than the usual common garden variety of tuna (maguro).
Toro is the lighter-coloured of the sushi at the front, and the darker stuff is the maguro.

On Tuesday and Wednesday Bridie and I boxed in the underside of the mobile.
Both my dad and my grandad were (my dad still is) great woodworkers, a talent I unfortunately didn't inherit. I do however remember vividly and fondly helping them with their woodwork tasks or projects. It was a sort of bonding thing. (no pun intended)
I wonder if Bridie will remember this in years to come?

Thnks for the pics of the opening of the "Environment Scheme" Tom. I'd heard so much about it - the sleepers & suchlike - it's good to see it finished, & it looks lovely. Next time I'm at your place, I'll go take a proper look.
Village Life Rules. OK?
What a contrast Village Life is to Big-City Life. I'm filled with revulsion at what happened in Manchester the other night, but the UK is a big place, & it's a comfort to know there are still little pockets of civility & decency around.
Hope the new Teeth are working well. To test them fully, I suggest you eat 2 steak & kidney puddings, three giant Breakfasts, two DTD French Toasts......
