Chief planning officer Lawrence Isted said the site was on a flood plain and was "unacceptable"

Sounds familiar... do they (the Planning officers) ever come up with a different reason to say no?  Roll Eyes

Some sites actually are unsuitable, but the councils get themselves into a "Cry Wolf" situation be refusing every application regardless.

In this case they freely admit that there is a need, but they refuse to provide a site or allow the Gypsies to provide their own.
