Quick question. I've always been told you have to cook the bones before you can feed them to a dog. Something about the taste of raw meat making them crazy for chasing livestock. Fact or fiction?
The technical term is "Cobblers"
I was always told the opposite -the smaller bones splinter easier if you cook them - and are more dangerous to the dog. The livestock bit is well - what Red said.
yep. cooking bones before giving them to dogs is so wrong. please stop. as rod says smaller bones are more likely to splinter and cause major problems

I never give the dog small bones of any kind. Was talking about the likes of leg of lamb or the beef joint bones. The local butcher often gives us joint bones for our dog when we get the weekly meat order. I'd bring them home and boil them first because of the local 'Cobblers' I'd fallen for. Also cooked the trimmed scraps first, but ye have saved me another job in the week, so cheers!

That's a great camera, but I thought it belonged to your gf?
She can only touch it when i say so...
edited original post!
That looks a lovely Spot where the pics were taken. Do you get to see much wildlife, many birds, small mammals, etc?
I'm so tempted to run away, buy a little smallholding in a wild & deserted part of Scotland, & see my time out there, with the birds, & bees, animals & wild flowers.
More pics, please.

On the subject of photos I shot the Red Hot Pokers in our garden today before the wasps wreck them. Also the mountain ash is laden with berries ready for the birds to feast on.

Jeopardy is a tv game show from America. Contestant picks a topic with a dollar value attached to it. The Host would give a clue. The contestant had to 'answer' the question by asking a question.
For example -
Host: He's a bald, German midget.
Contestant: Who is Boldie?
If the contestant failed to answer it as a question or give the wrong name, they lose the value of it (from their total so far) and the others have a chance to buzz in and get it right.

Oooh I do like to see advantage being taken now that he's not allowed to access Blonde at work! There's a good chance he won't see this....

What lovely pics, and a beautiful garden - "as nature intended" pretty much.

The photos were taken at Michelles grandparents house, it is just off the A17 and has some lovely views just from the back, to show an example i've included a wonderful picture my girlfriend took when she was on the 'cherry picker', I live in leeds and dont get to see much wildlife although since reading this diary i am seeing more and more things as I wander round the previously bleak environment!
