everybody hates Leeds
Is that really true? (I don't know if your kidding or exaggerating) Why does everyone hate them, wouldn't I hate them too once I know the reason?

EVERYBODY hates Leeds, that is perhaps the most true thing in football.
Dirty dirty team.

Are there exceptions to this rule, if so, can I be one?
BTW- I was born in Chesterfield and I do have a slight interest in Nottingham Forrest (Do they still exist?) as I always used to get stuck in traffic on match days.
Choose the local underdogs, Notts County.

I'm going to choose a team to support
What is this 'choose a team to support' business? You either support the team closest to where you were born, or closest to where you live now.
Really? See, That's one thing I've learned already.
I have to confess though, I'm a bit disappointed that I don't get to pick.
To be honest, top-class football is rubbish these days - I've completely lost interest. If I was you I'd find out where your nearest lower-league or semi-pro club and follow them.
I suspect that premier league professional footballers would sicken you as people.
But I want to watch my team on telly like everyone else.... Don't I?
Ahh well scrub that suggestion
Hang on, I'm not dismissing anything yet. Make a case for Notts county if you like. Do they have nice polite fans for instance?
They don't have any fans.
Excuse me!! I am not alone in being a Notts County supporter. I accept we are few and far between.
Yes Tom, as far as "politeness" goes we are generally a more pleasant group than many you will meet. We have resigned ourselves to being overshadowed by the more fashionable neighbours across the river. If you want a family day out at a football ground in relative safety and with plenty of room to stretch, Meadow Lane is the place to go.

Well Sheffield Wednesday have a fantastic stadium, were once a big team, have the greatest chip butties in the world. When a Yorkshire team play badly, the opposition fans since "are you Wednesday in disguise?"
We are now playing good attacking football and awful defensive football, so we are good vaulue, few draws and plenty of goals.
We also have Tommy from Coronation Street as a fan.

Or for local options, how far away is Peterborough.
A young up and coming manager
And the great George Boyd.

Easy, you look at the history of the club and talk whistfully of the great days and avoid present day results.

Bolton Wanderers seems fairly apt, and then there's Blackburn Rovers..
