zomg, you grew up without nandos? you have my deepest sympathies tom

Never been in a Nandos in my life, & I'm hopeful I never will. Good grief man, show some class.

Whatever happened to regular Chippies, & those new-fangled Wimpy Bars? And Launderettes? And bicycle shops, hardware Shops, Home & Colonial? Home & Colonial was awesome. Sold Lentils, broad beans, split peas, pearl barley, weighed by the pound, in brown greaseproof bags. Jumpers for goalposts too, I expect.

strange question tony. obv I have no idea what home and colonial is, that sounds like something from cos's era, but that apart the others still exist

within 10 minutes walk of my front door there are at least 3 old style chippies, 2 bicycle shops and 2 hardware shops. no wimpy though, you'd have to drive about 5 minutes to get to one of them

I once knew a fellow from Kent,
who's nose was exceedingly bent.
One day we suppose,
he followed his nose,
and nobody knows where he went.

Come to think of it, I've got about 3 chippies, a laundrette, a bicycle shop and a hardware shop all within walking distance from me.

The Wimpy closed down a few years ago and you've lost me with the Home & Colonial as well though

Lost you? I asked my mother if she'd heard of it and she hadn't.

She's 48 this year.

Yes, but not proper Trains. Have you seen them? All plastic, sort of Japanese styleee streamlined, with lawn-mower engines. Dreadful things. Have you had a Tour of Ebbsfleet Station yet? Very soul-less, totally lacking in character or atmo.
