I dragged myself out of bed after a late night.  Made a trip to the bank before walking another mile and a half to the bookies to buy a quickslip with the intention of playing the Super Series event today and some low limit cash.  I purchased a voucher for £80 and walked back home 10 minutes to spare I log into my account and input the quick slip number only to find out that this exceeds my daily limit - it seems when I set this account many moons ago I opted for a limit to be placed on the account.  So there is a helpline number to phone if you have any problems.  I give it a call spoke to some cheeky upstart who it took 4 times to get a 6 digit account number correct, only to tell me she couldn't help.

She couldn't change my deposit limit as that would take 48 hrs.  I don't believe that for a minute.
She couldn't take the vouncher number and ammend it to £50
She couldn't arrange to have my account credited with the ammount to play the tournament and I could have returned to the shop tommorrow and had voucher ammended.

Great customer service, it has to be said.  I will cash the voucher in tommorrow and that will be the last I visit a Hills shop.

I am really fecking annoyed.  To make matters worse the ammount I took out the bank and spent on the voucher even prohibits me from going out later and playing live as I only have £50 in cash left after I had a flutter on the football for the night.

I don't know if I'm missing something here, but are you saying that you're not happy that they won't change your self-imposed deposit limit at the drop of a hat?  Isn't that the whole point of those limits?  I'd be more concerned if they didn't have a 48 hour period before the change could be instigated.

Seems to me like she did well not to hand out the following number when she did her job "by the book"

0207 384 3040

The whole point about such limits is to not make them adjustable at a moment's notice!! Thats why you put them on, to stop "tilt" gambling

I dont ever recall setting a daily deposit limit.

My point is that she couldn't facilitate me in any other way by:

* adjust the voucher ammount
* depositing the money in my account and off-setting against the voucher

Her only suggestion was that I go back to the shop and ask them to change the ammount on the voucher.  Yes great with fecking 7 minutes to spare to the tournament i wished to play starts.

it has nothing to do with "tilt" gambling.  I now have an £80 voucher sitting on the tabel which is of no use to me today.

The whole point of customer service is to offer solutions not put blockers on things.  I offerd 3 viable alternatives.

but hold on a minute, she doesn't know (and nor should she be concerned with) what you want to play and when you want to play it

I think you are complaining with steam in your ears.

I can't see she did anything wrong.

No I am saying I am not happy that I offered 3 viable alternatives that she couldn't/wouldn't instigate.

I have just given Will Hill £80 in the shop that I can't spend today.

This is the first time I have used the quick slip idea, would it not make sense for them to take an account number before issuing in the shop and they could perhaps tell you that you have a daily deposit limit?

I set this account up probably about 2 years ago last time i placed a bet via Hills online or played in their poker room was probably around a year back and as I said on the telephone I can't ever remember setting a deposit limit.

No  - I have exceeded my daily withdrawal limit on my cash card, thats what stops me going out later.
