Did anyone see Mark Williams last night ? He looked awesome.

The good news is that I bet on him to win his quarter @ 8/1, the bad news is that I only got a fiver matched.

Was very good indeed but Davis looked more like Fred than Mark ;o)

ive had a tickle on John Higgins at 14s
Peter Ebdon EW at 28s
Steven Hendry EW at 33s

I think its wide open this year and basically anyone can win, I think Ebdon is a massive price, even though he hasnt been in great form he is still a class act

all my picks are through to the next round! two of them had very hard matches that went 10-9 but quite promising so far!!
I'm hoping Mark Williams capitualutes soon as i have backed him every year for the last 3 or 4 as he has been getting pushed out and i thought that he'd come good sooner or later, now he seems to be playing quite well even if it is against a player who hasnt turned up!

with Allen and Cope losing 10-9 we have more proof that the Crucible is a tough place for new players, however talented

Would expect both to fare far netter next year, probably as top 16 seeds

I didn't see any of Allen's game but have to say Cope impressed me greatly, one to watch for sure.

How are those that entered the prediction contest doing? I have 6 of 8 so far

7/8 so far, just the Bond/Robertson wrong

I have backed Ding Junhui outright at 14/1, see he has made a steady start.  If he gets through the first round match i fancy him to go a long way.
Selby is up against it, currently 8-6 down to Mark King - would be a lot of people's fancy out of the tournament.

Match wise, had Ebdon to win, Layed Allen at 1.2 against Hendry and backed Steve Davis +2.5 frames against Bingham when 6-3 down so doing very nicely indeed.

Today have backed Ding to beat Fu at 1.64 and will keep an eye on this afternoons matches to see what happens before betting.

One of the best punting strategies in any sport is when a snooker match goes to a decider always back the player that was winning 9-8, 12-11 or 4-3 in the shorter games.

The player that has levelled the score has a mental let down and is 'happy' that he is back in the game. I used to have the stats but these days I don't need em as I always bet this way in the last frame deciders, Both 10-9's today went that way and over the years its been a goldmine.

system going well, send more money......... Cheesy

I need this beating again, need Fu to progress here.

He's favourite against Hendry. Higgins/Junhui would be a corker

Looks like O'Sullivan is struggling against the 17 year old, currently 3-3
