Mr Dave Smith is OUT, as evidenced largely by his presence first at the cash desk, then at the cash game.

Those still in include the volatile but currently still chip-leading Pete Linton:

Joey "Gurning" Lovelady:

Also the owners of these delightful pates:

Was going to make that a competition but it's just too easy so I am awarding myself a prize for correctly guessing Dewi "5 Pints And Counting" James and Mickey "The Leg-End" Wernick:

gooooooooooooooo skaliiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee - time to show some Vegas form in the UK!!!

Mr Skalie is most unhappy after giving up a chunky pot to early Day 1a leader Ganesh Rao. Skalie made it 4k from one off the cutoff and to his consternation Ganesh called on his immediate left. The flop came two spades and Skalie made an 8k continuation bet, only for Ganesh to make it 20k. Skalie dwelled up a good long while before folding, his expression one of quite upsettingly deep unhappiness, like so - Sad . Bless.

Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you

CARD PROTECTOR OF THE DAY

A very tiny sleeping cat made of rock. Aaahhh. Special thank-yous for this award go to Mr J McBride, owner of said cat, for getting up from his seat and wandering off, thus enabling me to take close-up photo without embarrassing explanations etc.

Ganesh Rao has hit a big double up against Jon Huckle.

three clubs was the board

Ganesh was holding the against the equally never-folding . A blank two hearts on the river ships the 90k pot away from the Bad Beat player.

What a potty mouth. I hope Angelo washes that young lady's mouth out with soap when she returns to Notts.
