DTD Mini Festival: Day 1 - Interactive
«

From Vegas to Nottingham, the location may be different, but some of the faces the same: Pete Linton, Sam Trickett, Nick Hicks, Tony Nicholls and co all swapping the soaring heat of the desert for the murky gray skies of the East Midlands. But fear not, as we're in Dusk Till Dawn, a venue that defies the English cardroom stereotype by offering poker enthusiasts a service that could match anything they'd find across the pond. And by Jove, they've been at it again.
After the unchallenged success of the Norwegian Poker Championships, that motley crew at DTD have fired another bullet from their festival gun to bring us the 'Dusk Till Dawn Mini Festival', a series of events exclusive to midgets, dwarfs and pixies. Don't fear though, as although towering giants Karl Mahrenholz, Vik Kanwar and Richard Prew won't be eligible to play, I did just spot Jennifer Harman and Freddy Deeb rolling up, so this should be a competetive tournament indeed.
After entering, and losing, last night's starter for 50, today's main event will be a slightly more wallet thinning £750 no limit Hold'em freezeout. As always, and as soon as I have awoken Dana from her seemingly endless slumber, your intrepid team of tanned reporters shall be pitching up tent at ringside to bring you all the action as it happens. We'll do our very best to shower you with as much information as possible, but we're not superheroes (well, accept Dana, she's Sleeping Woman), so if we miss someone out, please feel free to post your demands and request for individual chip counts.
See you on the other side!

Agreed, please tell Maggie I miss her already .... And please console Donna, she will be so upset when she realises I wont be there.

Kev, they'll all be sad we're not there. I'm sure they're strong enough to cope until next time though.

Well, after crawling out of bed in Room 101 at the Holiday Inn (I kid you not), we are down at DTD and all set up, except for Snoopy who has broken the internet. Nevertheless Snoopy has a fried breakfast and I have a ludicrously spicy Jamaican curry of some sort, and we're looking at a field of 60 currently, although numbers are expected to swell to 80 or 100 in the next hour or so. So far in evidence are the Trigg perm, the Flushy beergut and the extremely round head of Matt Tyler, not to mention such luminaries as the Vinsons, Tony Phillips, Joe Grech, of course Mr Simon Trumper, and a dealer with an awesome afro of which photos will follow later.

How about Jewfros? Dana's disappointed that you're excluding her barnet in your requests.

Lights, camera, action...
And they're off.
If only I had a genuinely embarrassing photo to symbolise the start of today's event...
