(not a brag post honest)

Just come back from playing a £30 DC freezout in Leos Liverpool, and got down to final 3, and then a chop was offered. details are: -

Chip Leader
270,000
2nd Place
170,000
3rd place - Me
155,000
Blinds were 10,000 / 20,000

allocated prizes which were top heavy  1st- £1090   2nd - £470   3rd - £ 300

Original offer was 1st - 960, 2nd - 500, 3rd - 400

I said that I wanted £500 for 3rd which was agreed, so final chop was  - £860 -  £ 500 - £500. Did I do ok im my position, considering I was BB next hand....

Computer says no Sad

ICM calculator puts equities as £717 / £583 /£560. So I'm afraid it looks like the chip leader's the big winner here. The first offer was obviously ridiculous - especially with blinds this high there's no way 270k chips can be worth twice as much as 170k chips. Whether the second deal's any good for you depends on other stuff as well as just equity of course.

gg anyway!

I wouldn't have taken 500 here..the CL did nicely out of it. I think Mosk is right 560'ish sounds closer to what i would have asked for.

Having said that, if the 200£ difference between the orginal 3rd place and the 5 you got makes a big difference to you there's nothing wrong with taking it Smiley

WD on the result though Smiley

Nice result fella.  You didn't do too badly in the deal, and certainly better than the origial one offered. I hope the 1st place player was the one who tipped the dealers out of his winnings?

What would a 'DTD-style' chop be here?

wd on final table.

bad deal though imo especially when chipleader has 13 BBs and you have 7. At that stage I'm not lookin at my hand and just getting it all in pre flop to take blinds. A few hands uncalled and ur chipleader and even if ur called its not the end of the world to have K7 vs AJ

DTD chop would be

270,000 = £736
170,000 = £574
155,000 = £550

Thats where I went wrong, damm, when I worked out the chips I did it on the % figure, rather than giving 3rd place to everyone and then % the chips to the money left in the pot. In essence it looks like I possibly missed out on £50, but, even now after seeing the figures, I feel that I did not do to bad for myself, 2nd placed did worse by the looks of it, and with my current employment status being the way it is, £500 for a £33 layout is not a bad return.

Thanks for the reply guys, only second time I have had chop discussion in a decent money tourney and the other was in DTD and the figures were done by them so not much thought needed, but the pressure of trying to get a good deal for yourself was something different, and one that I will hopefully learn from for the future (I hope)
