So much good stuff out at the moment. Can only be awards season.

The King's Speech, 127 Hours, The Next Three Days, Conviction. All quality.

Prices on what The Sicilian will be taking in this Friday...

1-2 The Dilemma (Vince Vaughan, who's shit these days, and Kevin James, who should have stuck to TV, take the leads in what looks a pile of poop)

3-1 Morning Glory (chance to win some brownie points with the missus)

8-1 The four aforementioned quality flicks grouped together

Downloaded this week:

Shutter island
The town
Blue Valentine
Green Hornet
HP - deathly hallows
127 Hours

watched:

127 Hours - 9/10, Fantastic Film, Franco carrying a movie for so long just proves how good an actor he really is.
The town - 10/10, Affleck's directorial debut, had me engrossed from start to finish, Renner took the movie form a 9/10 to a 10/10, also good to see Jimmy O' from Son's or anarchy, Don from Mad Men and of course Pete Postlethwaite played a fantastically cruel bastard to perfection!

The Social Network - Its crazy how much hype this film is getting, dont get me wrong I enjoyed it...but Golden Globes - Best Picture, Director etc, and up for the same and more at the Oscars, its a straight forward script with point and shoot directing...and to anyone with no interest in Facebook it could just be the most boring film ever...

Yet 127 Hours is virtually ignored and has some great imaginative directing and a much more dramatic scenario.

Saw Social Network and 127 hours this week.  Both great, couldn't watch all of the arm scene in 127 hours, made me feel a bit queezy!   Danny Boyle gets it spot on with the sound track in his films.

Saw The Town a couple of weeks ago, we'll worth a watch.  Made me grab the other film he made/wrote with his brother in (couple of years old now I guess) but I can't remember the name off the top of my head.

Black Swan. Meh.

Very much this. WTF!? Walked out behind a few geezers, one of whom said "Where was the storyline? There was no f**king storyline!" Fair comment imo.
Looks like Natalie and her perma-erect nipples is going to be odds-on for best actress Oscar. GG. Will be taking her on. She was fine but the film is ridic and she's been more memorable in other stuff.

I did like the bit where the one lesbo ballerina muffed the other lesbo ballerina....but then it switched to the crazy ballerina stabbing herself in the face and my boner quickly disappeared along with my interest in the film.

I downloaded black swan the other day and had a quick flick through to check it was ok.

I was fortunate enough to happen across the muff diving bit which gave me hope that I might enjoy the film.

Should I just watch that bit again then delete it??

Gone Baby Gone was Affleck's feature length directorial debut, he had some shady short story before that. I did think the Town was great though.

Pretty sure Gone Baby Gone is what you are on about. AMAZING!

Gone Baby Gone was a little uneasy watching........ very powerful..believe its release was delayed as it was exactly the same time as Madeline Mcann was taken...

Watched Buried last night... interesting and different kept the missus awake...still not sure if I liked it or not...so  7/10

Complete opposite for me.  Fantastic film, a bit show-offy by the director at times.  Still, couldnt be further away from Meh.  Congrats to Natalie Portman for the oscar, best role for a while.

Anyone seen "Wanted" a 2008 film.

Its a copy of The Matrix ,as an office worker is told he is the one ,who has the power to move at super speed,

jump across buildings and make bullets fly around corners.

He is first contacted by Fox ( Angelina Jolie) , and taken to meet Sloane (Morgan Freeman ), aka Trinity and Morpheus

He is a last decendant of assassins who keep the world safe.

He gets trained to fight and shoot and at the end has to face the bad guy ( Mr. Smith )
