Just got served this in a £23 a night hotel in Birmingham.

Lacking on quantity but cooked nicely and arranged well on the plate imo.

In before flaming...

Excellent use of the sausage as a break-water, poor apart from this.
There is 50 bag with your name written all over it and you are paying £23 for a hotel???

Breakfast looks value for money and has been put together with some love.

Beans over egg is a huge no-no, cross contamination of yolk and bean juice imminent.

An excellent effort for thread - most people don't bother to take before and after photos so we can compare the final breakfast to the raw ingredients.

However, you've forgotten to post the after photo.

Although obviously lacking in quantity that looks pretty nice for a 23 quid b and b.

Would be totally unacceptable as a home made effort but i'd be more than happy to eat it.

Watching the live stream yesterday and the standard of play, I don't think you've got too much to worry about mate. Good luck.

Right I've decided that's it's time to attempt an entry in to this amazing thread.

I'm a big breakfast fan but I don't often make them because they're a bit on the unhealthy side.

Before I start I was after a bit of advice from the experts here. I've compiled a list of what I think the fry up will require but have I missed anything?

3 x Lincolnshire sausages. Purchased from local butchers.
3 x slices of bacon. Purchased from same butcher.
Black pudding. Again from butchers. May or may not get eaten, depends how I feel on the day.
2 x hash browns.
2 x fried eggs.
1 x scrambled egg.
Fresh mushrooms. No idea how to cook these but I'll find out easy enough.
Branston baked beans.
Chopped tomatoes.
2 x buttered toast.
2 x bread and butter.
Mug of coffee.
1 x big plate

Is that everything covered or have I missed any essentials?

I'm really not sure about the black pudding but it seems to be essential from what I've read on here over the last 4 years or so. Hope I'm in the 'love it' camp.

Are the beans not meant to be heinz (not a beans fan)? I would like to see some fried bread and to really test you technical ability a poached egg. just minor things but i cant wait

Black pudding is a must, you will enjoy just don't focus on the ingredients. No need for all the egg fried or scrambled is enough for me and I will let you off with the lack of square sausage and haggis as you aren't a member of the superior race.

other than that all looks good, you fry the mushrooms btw think the title of the thread is a bit of a give away...

Poached egg on a fry up? What the absolute fuck!?!?!

Think I might have to do a fried slice though you're right there.

Not sure about the beans. There's been much debate over their validity at all as you obviously don't fry them. Then again you don't fry the toast and nobody would ever say you shouldn't have that.

Lol. Yes I knew that but how long do they take? I've got no idea.
