Michael Moore is on a roll, he's just knocked out Marc Goodwin with against after the board came . Probably will be the chip leader tonight the way he's going.

I suppose tomorrow a few of his friends in the stands will be asking him, while he dances combing his hair, "Tell me Moore, tell me Moore, did you get very far?"

Dreadfulness for Snoopy.

He's still in, but there are many possible worlds in which he is now sitting on a workable stack, while in this reality he is still on a very dangerous 14k or so.

Michael Moore made it 3.5k from the cutoff and Snoopy shoved for 13,425 from the small blind. After some brief deliberation, Moore called, and was dominated.

Moore:
Snoopy:

Board: an incredibly exciting but ultimately split-a-licious

Bad luck, the Snoopster.

How are the last of the local boys doing, Pettman and Evans?

Stuck in Belfast when I should be home in Broadstairs.

Liam Pettman - around 40k last count, will check up on him.

Evans doesn't seem to be there any more, I'm afraid...

Hope Belfast is nice.

This level is the last one of the day and play is slowly drawing to a close, apart from a slightly non-soberish Nik Persaud, who providing much entertainment alongside Ian Woodley, the latter desperate to double up or disappear. Dana is just grabbing the last few bits of information as I type.

Some last-minute craziness from Mr Woodley, determined not to come back for Day 2 with a short stack.

He went all in, claiming he'd only looked at the one card. Michael Moore called and turned over , but Woodley asked if he could wait until the board had been dealt before turning over his hand. Dena attempted to protest, but Moore didn't mind so they proceeded that way.

Board:

Woodley turns over...

...Busted . Ouch. Out he goes, to the delightful soundtrack of some sort of unintelligible rubdown from Nik Persaud.

Thus ends our fun-filled Day 1a.

Our remaining players have slowly degenerated from this:

...into this:

...and therefore it's in everyone's interest if they go home and get some sleep before returning for Day 2 on Saturday. No rest for the updaters, though - chip counts should be up on here in the next couple of hours, as well as our tournament report on the William Hill site, and we will be back at the G Casino Thanet tomorrow at 2pm to see how our Day 1B-ers fare. See you then!

Joy! I have finally had Vodafone Content Control removed from my internet dongle thingy and am thus able to update.

I feel your pain, I went two weeks in the summer with this content lock on my dongle.

Couldn't get onto poker sites, yes, that was my trouble.

Update requestaments from the casino staff concerning the below gentleman, Kiem Huynh, incidentally a sufferer of cerebral palsy so they identified him as "the guy in the wheelchair" (easy enough).

Anyway, Mr Huynh is still on around his starting stack. Most recently I saw him bet a mere 200 on a Two Diamonds board, and then lay it down when Aaron Smith made it 800 to go.

Let us know any other requestaments you might have, by the way, and we will do our damnedest to find out their status. Probably after the dinner break at this rate.

Thank you, Dana.
