Double up for the GUKPT's form man, Nik Persaud. His jacks winning the raise against Martin Holmes , the sweat not nearly so tough after the first card out was the followed by Two Clubs .

Meanwhile next to him, Andreas Hoivold has been doing well to recover after his earlier knockdown against Julian Thew, scooping up a pot having missed a big draw with on a x board, third pair was still good however though.

He's not a big fan of Thanet though.

"It's like Hell," said the Norwegian, "...Hell on toast."

Mikey Tse has doubled up through Jim Reid with Kings against Tens.

El Blondie has also doubled up, a lucky escape with against Martyn Robinson's after the board came out ...

Colclough now up to around 12k.

Plays are on a short break, during which Alex Martin (47k) told me of a hand he won against Ian Woodley.

Woodley min-raised and Alex defended with . The flop came -x-x and Alex check/called a flop bet before both players checked the turn. On a blank, non-draw making river, Alex bet out 2,800 and Woodley raised to 9,600.

"His hand is either queens or air and he's going to have air a lot more of the time."

Alex called and Woodley mucked.

Mark Friedmann min-raises a 3,200 bet o 6,400 tand call on a three clubs two spades that was called in both spots. Not too many eyebrows were raised when he flipped saying, "Can you beat the nuts?"

The real surprise was the fact that the overcall came from a player holding for the second nuts, which makes you wonder how much value Friedman could've extracted from this hand.

Recoverer Of The Day

Down to apparently just 300 chips not so long ago, Tim Flanders is now up to the heady sweet heights of around 30k, largely as a result of a massive triple-up, his nines up against queens and A-K, he spiked a nine to win a monster pot and put him above average for the first time today.

Doesn't he look happy?

Jason Evans doubled up on the last hand of the break, although he very nearly wandered into the night instead of coming back afterwards. He called all in to Kristoffer Huynh's (brother of Kiem) reraise, and found himself racing.

Huynh:
Evans:

Board:

Evans seemed to think he'd lost at this point and attempted to leave without raking in the chips, until it was pointed out to him that he'd made a flush. "Phew," he said, clutching his heart, and went off to the break much happier.

Andreas Tappous has doubled up his microstack to a mere ministack. Getting it in with against Mateyboy's , he was ahead all the way down the board, and is now sitting precariously on 5.5k.
