Enchantment? Enchantment!

"And in the blue corner, from parts unknowns..."

So if Thanet was in a wrestling match with the other GUKPT locations, I'm pretty sure that would be the first eight words of it's description. We're in Kent, (Has an International Airport dontchaknow?). Near Ramsgate (famous for the infamous sheep scandal), Margate (famous for the Andrew Marr scandal) and Westgate-On-Sea (famous for discovering wood can float) as well as Broadstairs, (the first place to accomodate the portlier class of people into getting to the first floor and above) and Cliffs Edge (...)

Thanet will surely be the unknown quality to this year's GUKPT, as in, unknown if anyone could find it on the map. Being scheduled against the Boylepoker Irish Poker Open that's going on this weekend across the sea, which is expected to get over 1,000 runners, this event may find it tough not being easy to travel to from anywhere other than London. And I make that latter point on the back of a 6 hour journey here from Leeds.

Thanet is this year's Plymouth, a new location albeit slightly out of the way, trying to make a name for itself and join a club that seems pretty elite with it's members.

Last month, Tony Cascarino was the winner, though helped when Ali Mallu pressed the 'implosion' switch rather than the 'explosion' one. But who'll be the first holder of the prestigious 'Thanet GUKPT winner' title?

You'll have to tune in from 2pm tomorrow to find out.

Which blondes are playing?

Will be following from the office tomorrow (unless work gets in the way, which is unlikely).

Ola - I would like to request some poker players - hoodied up - as it is not a poker tournament without some colourful and of course very tasteful hoodies on show! Smiley  I need to get some fashion tips for my next tournament Wink

Ive put a few each way bets on

Ian Frazer
Ian Cox
Moomin
Stuart Rutter

Just gut instinct in most cases, but Ian Frazer is in a bit of form.

I'll have a tenner each-way on handsome Paul Ephremsen, he's due a good run in a biggun.
