Dave Penly and Garinder Purewal spar despite the bubble. Penly raising to aroud 8k and Purewal making the call from the button.

Penly bets 12k. Call.

Penly bets 16k, Garinder asks how much he's playing. "95k is the reply." Garinder decides to just call.

Penly checks, Garinder decides to check behind. Penly shows which is good as Purewal mucks what I think was Jacks.

And here's the more crucial hand which sent Ashraf spinning gently towards the exit - I got this story straight from the horse's mouth...

Adrian Swingler limped utg, Ashraf limped with on the button, the blinds came in too.  The flop brought him bottom pair on a J-9-3 board, and everyone checked.
The turn brought an Ace - that's two pair for the slow of calculation - and now when it checked round he fired 20k.  This chunky bet was called only by Swingler.
The river: another Nine.  Now Swingler bet out 20k.  "I had to call," says Ashraf, "If he's got an Ace, the Jack might mean we chop it..." but no - it was in his opponent's hand and the loss of that 50k pretty much busted him.

limping with A3 on button, lol

Daniel Ward is the bubble boy, A-7 into Alan Stearn's A-T. That means though everyone else now is guaranteed to win £495...

Paul Garnham is out in 11th place, pushed with Jacks but Alan Stearn's A-T was once again good. We're now hand for hand for the final.

An interesting hand between Billy Ngo and Gurpreet Nagi now - a flop of saw little action, but when the popped up on the turn, Ngo check-raised Nagi 11k.  A little think later, and Nagi moved all in.  Another 60k was too much for Ngo to call with just the he showed, but Nagi had flopped the nuts with two hearts ...

We've lost two players in one hand, one from each table.

First, Gurpreet Nagi raised to 8.5k and Pete Singleton shoved for about 26k. Nagi was compelled to call with A-8 against Singleton's K-K and managed to spike an Ace. On the other table, Adrian Swingler has managed an good comeback, first doubling with K-J vs Wong's 7-7. Then he just eliminated Thomas Gibson at the same time as Singleton's exit, with 9-9 vs 7-7.

This means we'll be having an 8-handed final table. Gibson I believe will get 9th place though we think as he started off with about 2k more chips than Singleton who'll have to be content with 10th place.

The final table is being set up now, chip counts and photos to follow.

Jen has had to scarper because she's got a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I'm now flying solo.

Anyway, it's been a good start for Dave Penly, he reraised Gurpreet Nagi's 11k raise to 40k and the latter called, before shoving the 8-5-2 flop. Penly quickly called with Queens which stayed good ahead of Nagi's Sixes. Penly up to about 280k Nagi down to the felt.
