Pete Singleton has lost a couple of thousand, folding to a bet on the river of a board, Rob Cowen trying to show me, but not the table the that he had in his hand.

One of these two could have been in contention for First Exit just now - on the left Nathan Lee, the right Jason Trey.  With 2,275 in the pot, first to act Lee had bet 2,200 on a flop of Two Clubs only to find bespectacled Trey moving all in.  A dwell ensued, pictured here, with traditional Consideration Poses being struck with aplomb.  Finally Lee passed, with the rest of the table unsurprisingly calling for Trey to "show the bluff."  He declined.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Pete Singleton has lost a couple of thousand, folding to a bet on the river of a board, Rob Cowen trying to show me, but not the table the that he had in his hand.

Here he is on the left of Stu Rutter, who is fairly happy with his table, which is displaying a fair number of slightly strange hands - like when a backdoor flush hit a raggy paired board and the three players in for the river all checked - the guy with the flush, trips and the small FH!

It never seems to be too early in the day for Mad Marty Wilson to chat.  His table might be somewhat unresponsive, but the irrepressible MMW is already on a roll.  Here's just a snapshot of what I overheard on the first pass - like tuning in to a weird radio station for a minute or so...

"...honey comes from bees.  You can ask me what I had for tea on a Wednesday in 1973 and I'll tell you."  [pause for breath]
Jon Raab interjects, laughing, "Cause you always have the same thing on a Wednesday."

"The Finnish are the greatest nation for eating meat in the world."
"Tell them the polar bear story!" asks John Conroy (from the relative safety of the next table along)...
