With 67 players of the original 341, the action is hurtling at the pace of a lard encrusted snail at the moment as we near the end of the 800/1,600 level. Very little in the way of big hands, and fewer exits than expected. I did catch sight of one all in, however, Barry Grime doubling up an unknown player pictured below with versus two spades. I'm not sure when the wonga went in, but with the board reading Two Clubs , it looks nasty either way.

If our source is correct, this chap is Alex McElhatton, currently on the dizzy nose-bleed inducing heights of 87,000.

Martyn is currently distracted by a combination of the Racing Post and the horse race taking place on the plasma screen, but I'll pass on the message when he's escaped his trance.

Zippy Aslam raises to 4,200 from early position and Martyn Cavanagh makes the call from the big blind after checking Zippy's stack.

three diamonds

Martyn checks, Zippy bets 5k, Martyn sets him in, Zippy starts to tank.

"I've always been taught to respect the check/raise, but I really think you're making a move. I just don't believe you've got anything. He rechecks his cards, which always means a player is folding. Zippy shows and mucks, Martyn shows and Zippy smacks his hand on the table, letting out a sigh of frustration...

"I knew I should've called."

My tip to win it all. He has almost a 100k we think.

Incidentally, dinner break will be taken at the end of this level because the restaurant is booked out for a party from 7pm.

Tom Middleton is out.

Sunny Chattha raised to 5,600. Middleton moved in for 13,900 from the small blind. John Marles flat-called from the big as did Sunny.

Check check.

Marles now moves in, Sunny folds. Marles shows Tens, Sunny puts his hand on his head saying he folded Jacks. Middleton shows A-9 and misses on the river. Marles scoops the 40k pot and Sunny is left saying, "I should've moved in preflop..."

I'll have a check in a moment. I fear he may have been an early casualty though.

Gary Buckland is out, captured below in coat-grabbing mode. His assassin was Gary Fisher, who has been on quite the surge of late. Fisher raised it up to 8,000 from latish position with before calling Buckland's big blind push of 23,500 total with . The board favoured Fisher though, who is now on circa 90,000 as a result.

Here's a familiar face from the blonde poker forum, Al Armitage (50,000) the recipient of a Norman Levitt staredown, the latter himself doing rather well with 131,000.

I joined the action with the board reading Two Diamonds, and Leon Campbell facing a bet of 9,500 from Midlander Darren Grosvenor. Campbell seemed wary, but put his man all in nevertheless. Grosvenor called with , Campbell showed . "Aaaah, thought you might have me," he confessed. "Was thinking you could have a set."

"I need an ace," observed Campbell prior to the river, but like my fantasy of courting Angelina Jolie, it just wasn't to be, the final card coming and sealing the deal for Grosvenor.

Campbell now down to 10-15,000.
