The pots continue to tend towards Zachary Ford apart from one.

It's a limped pot.

Check check

three diamonds

Brian checks, Zachary bets 50k, Brian calls.

Brian checks, Zachary bets 110k, Brian calls. Zachary mucks, Brian shows .

Zachary might not have wanted to bluff again on the river, it didn't look like Brian was passing after the turn, plus with all the crowd tending to root for Brian, he perhaps might want to make the big call for them. Neverthless his strategy of just letting Zachary bluff at him might just work.

Incidentally, after the double up with J-9 vs 8-8, a £75k each deal was done with £2k left and the seat to play for.

Snoopy, "Of course, they do a deal and THEN they tighten up, what's up with that?"

Our two remaining Trojans see a flop of two spades. Zachary Ford bets 50,000 and Brian Clarke calls. On the turn, Ford takes it down with a bet of 70,000. Ford shows the .

Another cheap flop, this time a Two Clubs hits the felt. Brian Clarke check-calls 60,000, but then checks down a turn and a river. Ford wins with a .

Ford makes it 80,000 preflop from the button and Clarke calls. Clarke then folds to a bet of 150,000 on the flop.

Sometimes poker is just...well....it's just...

Zachary Ford raises to a chunky 200k from the button. Brian Clarke thinks for 30 seconds and moves all-in. Ford calls instantly.

Ford:
Brian:

Fist pump from Ford, it looks like it's over...

The best card in the deck for Brian gives him outs but surely, surely, SURELY not?

And the crowd goes wild. Lorna the dealer gives me a look of, "Did I really just deal out that board?" While Zachary Ford looks devastated...

The crowd are loving this, although James Akenhead, who has a £20 bet on Zachary Ford, doesn't seem too thrilled by the last showdown.

I couldn't help but notice Sam Trickett's allegiance to Ford. I wonder if those shirts are on general sale?

I think the fat lady is stuck on the motorway, because we've had yet another double through.

Brian Clarke =

Zachary Ford =

Board = Two Clubs

The crowd erupt in applause as Ford raises his arms in victory. I don't think there was single person in the room who didn't think a jack was going to hit that river, but perhaps Clarke's nine lives are up.

Raise to 130k from Brian, Zachary Ford moves in. Brian snap-calls.

Brian:

Zachary:

And Zachary slams the table in delight as the 'new Zachary Ford fan club' consisting of James Akenhead cheers.

Zachary slams the table again, we're going to be here longer...

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH" shouts the crowd and Zachary virtually collapses. Perhaps the least likely person thought to win this competition today coming back with a short stack has manage to catch his cards and win!

Zachary Ford is out in 2nd place winning £56,250

and

BRIAN CLARKE IS THE GUKPT CHAMPION OF BLACKPOOL WINNING £96,500!!!
