I'm not sure how he got so low, but with just a bowl of rice left, Nicky Evans threw in his shrapnel with J-T, and hailed down a taxi as his opponent showed Q-Q. However, a dramatic 7-7-9-T-8 board had the rail celebrating and kept the Brighton lad alive, albeit with a paltry stack of 5,000.

John Shipley won't be shipping it this week; he's been eliminated from today's comp.

More casualties than an episode of Chicago Hope at the moment, the latest man to make his way into E.R. being Welsh chatterbox Roberto Romanello. He was dreadfully unlucky though, his 7-2 failing to hold up against Dan Cater's pocket rockets. It's a cruel, cruel game.

Gosh, is that a record bok? And to name the hand too. Quite remarkable. I think you deserve this year's Bokker Prize.

Andreas Hoivold raised a bit less than the pot, Jim Reid made it 3,000 and Hoivold called. Reid then pushed all in on the Two Diamonds flop. "Tens?" probed Hoivold. Reid checked his cards. "Will you show if I fold?" Reid shook his head. "Will you show if I call?" "I'll have no choice if you call." In the end, Hoivold made the fold, but the most disgruntled player at the table appeared to be Michael Greco who claimed to have folded pocket eights. Hoivold drops to 8,500.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Ladies and gentleman, we have a new chip leader, 2007 champion Jerome Bradpiece raising his bat in the air as he surpasses the half a century. The hand that elevated him to such status involved a three way in with John Littler and Dave Welch the unfortunate victims. With Littler limping under-the-gun for 400, Welch made it 1,800 only for Bradpiece to make it a total of 6,400 to play. Back round to Littler, who pushed in for a couple of thousand more, as did Welch. The action halted on Bradpiece as he mulled over his decision for anothe 12,000. After around a minute in the think tank, he made the call.

Bradpiece =
Welch =
Littler =

Board = Two Diamonds

Turn =

River...

=

"Ah f***ing hell," grumbled a clearly devastated Welch as he left the table, whilst Bradpiece quickly and quielty constructed his newly acquired 56,500 stack.

We've lost Alan McLean. No, I don't mean he's gone missing or is trapped in the loo, but rather he's been eliminated from today's comp. His final hand were sevens, which were no match for nines on an uneventful board.

Meanwhile, Dave Smith has seen his stack decimated, nines no good against kings on a 6-8-4-J-3 rainbow board.

Moments later, Dave Smith doubled back up to 4,800 with versus on a subsequent Two Diamonds two hearts board.
