Where is the best place to buy USD? I am guessing there must be places in London that do good rates?

Ive always found Eurochange to do good rates personally.

Assuming ( probably incorrectly ) you are ging to Vegas why not book a commercial wire straight to the casino cage in USD?
Rate should be better and no hassles.

i thought the casinos would probably give you a worse rate. no?

Sometimes the rates are as good as you get over here for sterling but I was meaning Transfer from £ into $ like a deposit in USD direct to the casino cage.
Just out of curiousity I will get a quote for USD booked that way to see how it compares with 1.505. I would gues it will be 1.52 or so.

Now I shall go away and prepare to fall flat on my face haha

P.S. I would be no good as a hrose but quite happy to be the bag man if you need one

Got a reply on the rates just wish I was going to LV to need to book some cash!

At this moment, I can offer you the USD exchange rate of 1.5300 for £10K and 1.5370 for £40K.

$1200 extra (vs 1.505) and no carrying too much cash FTW!

Best way to get USD at the minute is through a FairFX Card, Its a preloaded debit card always offer about the best rate you can get.

There is a setting up charge but you get it for free through this link

http://www.fairfx.com/dibb

Loads of info here

http://www.fairfxcard.com/

and a whole discussion about it here

http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=271188

Only fees are $2 for ATM withdrawals, purchases and casino cash desks are free.

I use one of these and load it on a regular basis great way to save Dollars.
