I don't think the cost will be anywhere near £17M.  We're stilled owed for Crouch, and with the wheeling and dealing, it'll probably be nearer £10M.

We should still have a little more to spend apparently.  £25M on Tevez would be good Wink

Not sure that Tevez is a good fit for you. Where would you use him, bearing in mind that if he moves it's for regular first team football?

Also not sure you have another £25M to spend, although who knew that Real had £140M and rising?

I think it's pretty widely accepted among Pool fans that we're not on Tevez's list of team to go to as he had a good relationship with Man U fans.

Secondly Kia Joorabchian doesn't want payment over 5 years for Tevez like we've offered.

I think we still have money though. Recent financial reports would have been known to Rafa and the board long before this summer's budget was set. Also, after sales I think the £10-11m outlay for Johnson will be recouped.

If this really had anything to do without why would he go to city other than the 140k on offer ??

Fair one. I think paying £25m in one payment might help his agent/owners persuade him to go though. Also he wont have to move house! In fairness if he stays in England he's going to be hated at Pool, Citeh or Chelsea.

That aside I think he'll stay at Man U anyway, mainly as after Ronaldo's sale it'll be hard to justify not spending the £25 million they want. He'll get the games he wants now too.

I don't see him staying at man yoo, they should get villa instead.Tevez is hard working but he's bit overated imo

Palace already got Darren Ambrose on a free.  Should also get Freddie Sears on season loan as stated previously, and also trying to sign Bradley Wright-Phillips from Southampton on a free.

LOL ... this is a belter

Former Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan could be set for a return to management at Southampton after being spotted holding a meeting with Saints legend Matt Le Tissier and former chairman Lee Crouch.

Chelsea will presumably offer more wages, so I guess it depends how he was treated there, and if he wants to pastures old...

Competition for first team football vs Jose Bosingwa or Philip Degen (as I'm sure we're selling Arbeloa) - I know where I'd go.

The rumour is in the Liverpool store at the ground the option to have "Johnson TBA" on your shirt was available until 9:30pm last night.

All of this means he's off to Chelsea obv.
