My bets

Laying

Woods - a very short price for the US open - he may win but will trade bigger at some stage
Mickelson - his wife has cancer and will have other things on his mind.
Els - not the player he was and the greens will find him out
Harrington -  I know he raises his game for the majors, but with several missed cuts this year this is a big ask
Garcia - Out of form since his girlfriend dumped him, and then there is his putting

Backing

Jim Furyk - Straight hitter and in form
Zach Johnson - see above

good luck whomever takes your fancy

Hugely fancied Furyk this week, in form and plays the US well, however it is playing monstrously long, there has been a ton of rain and it is set to continue, Furyk has very little chance imo, and has been very negative on his chances on US TV.

I'm going to plump for Casey, long hitter, also in form, hopefully a bit of British weather will do him no harm, and he's due one possibly. Andres Romero as a big outside punt.

I can't see Tiger losing, but i agree with you better value at some other stage within tourney.

Furyk, and Ogilvy being the close to him.

And some value e/w - KJ Choi, (always consistent 110/1) JB Homles (hits it a mile 200/1)

Tiger looks absolutely nailed-on for this (he won here last time -3 and second was +2) but I cannot take the 2/1.

As is my usual modus operandum I've sorted out a few value outsiders which may raise a few eyebrows  Shocked

Thomas Levet @ 360 (he's had a great season and is a wonderful putter).

Andres Romero @ 340 (he's been very unpredictable this year but is hugely long and putts like an angel).

Raphael Jaquelin @ 860 ( huge price for a decent player and couldn't resist an apple to win £17k)

Ian Poulter @ 110 (  )

Angel Cabrera @ 90 ( I think he just is able to raise his game for the majors these days and he's done me a couple of favours).

Brian Gay @ 85 ( he played wonderfully well last week and may just still be in the zone).

Good Luck !

McIlroy may do ok here, big ask, but he's a fairly big hitter so could be ok, may take 75.0 and hope to trade off later on

I got my main pick Poulter at 90/1 and, as I had £4 on my SkyBet account, I threw £2 on Casey at 25/1 and £2 on KJ Choi at 125/1.

My wife picked her faves, Harrington at 50/1 and Villegas at 60/1.

WillHill offering the best odds on 26 of the top 30 players so dep'd there yesterday. Bonkers odds on Cabrera so I stuck a couple of quid on him EW too.

It's a monster course and I think it'll be damage limitation again (typical US Open). I think it's gonna be about who's best at hitting 5 woods / rescue clubs / long irons into par4s.

if your backing woods you may as well back ogilvy for top aussie at 13/10, pinching money.
