Some maybe, but reduced hotel availability and increased prices would mean smaller fields. Many players are conscious of keeping their expenses down. There's always tittie bars for those fem starved players that want it...

The opening event of the GUKPT in Thanet was a £200 NL Hold'em freezeout. There were 111 runners, which was not too bad a start to the festival. Tonight's tournament is a £300 NL Hold'em Freezeout.

The reason for going to coastal towns out of season is indeed about the price and availability of accomodation.
pretty sure ppl stumping up £1k for an event will be more than happy to pay more for accomodation in return for more femflesh on display and that rare joy of seeing sunshine. I think you underestimate what skinflints poker players can be when it comes to this sort of thing.

Blackpool is my favourite UKPT event, but I see it is back to being the same week as Amsterdam Bad news. I'm sure you can get a bag of skunk and a transsexual hooker in blackpool if you ask around. lol^^^

Have there been any events where you haven't been on tilt before the start? Easiest hotel is the Margate Travelodge, which is right nextdoor to the casino. I think the town's pretty good, or good enough for us to go on the piss on Friday night.
