i remember the first time i met ali ,he was dealing the 30 rebuy at the gala in notts .
three times when it got to me he asked me my name ,each time i told him or some one else did .
after 10 more minutes he taped me on the arm and said it`s you to go morris .wtf morris .
i still get called morris off a few of the players from the gala.
Theres an old reg at Stanley Derby called Morris, not that you look (or sound) even remotley alike but its prob the reason he calls it you. Be happy with being called 'Bud' like everyone else is imo!
Dunno whether it was true or not, but I read an article about said 'Morris' from Stanleys Derby, shortly after I played with him.
I think it was written by Carl 'The Dean' Sampson so bear in mind the article shouldn't hold too much weight, but it was all about how 'The Dean' was set up to go to a bent poker game by Morris at 'Pitbull Pete's'.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

I was just as surprised to read it.
But then again it was written by Carl 'I coach blackjack' Sampson.
Will try dig it out

I have seen Morris from Derby at DTD a couple of times in the last month or so and the man is a perfect gentleman. He's in his early eighties now but still bright as a button and with his ready wit and good humour a pleasure to spend any time with. I will lay anyone a bag of sand to an Alan Whicker that he has ever been involved in any kind of crooked poker game, it's just not in the man's character, he's a diamond.

Taffy often comes down for the deepstack weekends and other festivals. Also comes to the 2/5 NLH that's been organised the last few fridays. Unless i've got people mixed up.
