Not the worst of ideas I guess... I haven't tended to use blockers all that much in the past; I suppose this was actually a very good time for one.


The good news is that i'm playing for 8 more days on the trot, so I certainly hope i'll be a bit sharper by the end.

To qualify      .....       bar JohnnyPlums and myself (who were - unsuccessfully - trying to plunder 'easy' Nat League points) - most of the field were unaware the comp had changed to a £10 re-buy       .....       of these, 99.9% were highly pissed off with what was on offer, and wouldn't have come if they knew      .....         the comp was boring, dire, dreadfully out of touch with what 'modern players' want (Round 2 tonight) - for example, four players on my table not bothering to even see out the end of Level 2 (no double addon    .....     "what's the point of sticking around in this!").

D J had changed his tune (as per Sellick thread entry) by the break, and was moaning what a shit comp it really was for a Monday.

A success it wasn't Jaws     .....        most of the punters would have chosen a night with Vanessa Phelps sitting on their face, rather than play this!

Very good tournament report  I have to say I can not play a £10 rebuy sober and I cant get drunk on a Monday so it is never going to happen for me!  The more runners they get the worse the tournament will probably become enjoyment wise.....

The 'atmosphere' was awful - the quietest I've ever known the Luton cardroom     ....
