https://www.starsportsbet.co.uk/star-sports-greyhound-derby-the-draw-3/

The draw was made today ready for Friday 27th and Sat 28th. Really feels and looks like this will be one of the best comps of recent years. I’ll be looking to find some local runners who may have an advantage the first round while the others find there feet. Of course plenty have had trails but local knowledge could play a factor in the early rounds.

Droops Expert had another great trail today and is in Heat 15 in what looks like a decent heat. 50/1 still available in one spot and I am really keen on him. I’ve gone in again and added another 2pts ew.

Worseforwear had a decent trail, already have him at 100/1 and heat 12 looks like he should come through. As low as 40/1 with boyles. I think this dog can go through the rounds so I’ve had another 1pt ew at 100/1.

Heat 16 looks like a tough one, Wildcat is in between Wolfe and Poet (still can’t belive Poet has come back from injury). Verve vs Slippy Cian in heat 17 on Saturday.

Really excited now. Hopefully we can have some fun over the next few weeks.

Poet just gagged up at Sheffield in a decent open from a bad draw in a decent time.  Wallis obviously wanted to get another spin into her.  Looking good for the derby.

Superb, couldn't help myself and have topped up at 50/1 2 pts ew and 40/1 1 pt ew. 40's still available, looks like there could be more to come from him.

There was a feature on utube - Starsports have got Jules going round the kennels. While at Wallis' they done a bit on Alien Sea - 250/1, won last night beating Antigua Romeo who is same owner as Poet. Added to the team. Alien Sea 250/1 1 pt ew.

Loving the 2.25 on Droopys Expert that's avalaible. Im sure AKELAWRE is a very good dog and should run well but as I said earlier im on the look out in the early rounds for dogs that know the track against ones with either no race or limited trails. The latter has had 1 trail, cant be enough to get the better of Expert. Fully expect 365's 1.9 to be closer to the sp. Ive had 8pts Win.

Don't see Sporting Dave getting beat either but at 1.44 I can pass.

The other one that fits the bill for me is Ballydoyle Valour, liked his last run beating Poet who was just not fit enough at the time. Up against Droopys Davy who is indeed a class dog but i like the draw in 2 for ours, should beat t1 out of the traps, hold the corner and stay in front, if t3 takes the corner we know that Valour can win from behind. Happy with the 3.0 4pts Win.

I'm out of touch this year unfortunately with a lot going on but I've had a study over the last few days.

A lot of superb dogs at the head of the market, too short for my penny bets and missed the value on a few. Been looking for a few bigger priced things to have an interest.

Totos Park 100/1 (little 120 on machine) - Was likely the best of the three figure priced dogs that I could see. No Notts look isn't ideal but been competing with some of the top Irish dogs over there. Notably looks to get the 549 in Ireland so should see out the 500 Notts fine. EP looks very good.

Diane Henry has two that could be anything, Savana Volt (100/1) and Formidable (@220, as short as 50/1) with polar opposite running styles. Volt looks strong and posted a good trial whilst Formidable looks to have good early and is a wide which is a positive in this unseeded heavy competition.

Pond Adonis looks to be another that can keep qualifying and at 130 on machine I was happy to have a small bet for interest. 100/1 best elsewhere.

Had a small play on Roxholme Jim (80/1) after name popped out looking at Droopys Expert. Good early paced sort, open to improvement being not long out of puppy status and Keightley knows how to get a dog right for these comps.

Small stab on Droopys Gold (100/1). Would love King Dylan (@95 on exchange, generally 50/1) to find trapping boots but can keep qualifying regardless, plus wanted a McNair dog to cheer on. Queen Beyonce looks good too but didn't meet my 80/1+ criteria.

Expert went of 1.66 I think on bf but came third. Still qualifies but no good for the win on the night.

Dave as thought was strong enough but price was always too short.

Droopys Davy was a monster and was too strong for Valour who missed it at the boxes and was never really in contention.

Loved the runs from Clonbrien Prince and Wolfe (beat Wildcat although could have gone the other way if in each other’s traps) and it looks like the 11/10 that was available on the Irish could have been a bet.

Second night tonight. Should be fun.

That Wolfe/Dorotas buckle was an absolute classic.

Great TV coverage on 431 this evening, far more enjoyable than last night with Errol Blyth who rather like my golf game is past his best.

The head-on shots of the dogs leaving the traps and pacing up to the bend are spectacular and very informative.

Errol really has fallen off a cliff in the last 5 years.  It is cringe when he is on sis doing the lunchtime 49ers inbetween the 1244 and 1254pm morning dog races.  Quite amazing really given ten years ago he was the main man on the WH derby final classic comm at the don.

Darrryl and Dave Clarke are a great combo of anchor and analyst.  Clarke doesn't seem to have an indirect pop at Dazzler like he does a lot of anchors he considers are guessers.

PS - clock just gone by a chunk.  That was very impressive given the dog wasn't a cert to lead the inside and drifted from odds on to over 6/4 on the machine on the off.  Someone didn't know the gamble on the 4 to sub 2/1 was comical.

Skywalker Logan does a 29.05 obliterating the former 20.16 500M track-record which has stood since 2012.

the machine went down around 930pm tonight and pretty sure just about every jolly at nottingham and crayford hosed up until the end of both cards.  Punters fuming.  Layers saved a fortune.

That was a fantastic run from Logan, not bad for a dog that loves even longer.
