Guys any thoughts on the state of Eden the Kid after his semi? S it normal for a dog to lay down like that after a race. I know Arab made a but of a joke about it but surely that behaviour is from a dog that is slightly distressed.

Please don't jump on the bandwagon Omm.

Rab and Liz have been in the game far too long to not know when the dog is distressed, they came in through flapping and have forgotten more than any of us know. They said the dog does it every race, he just gives his all and has a lay down, the cameras didn't catch it before because it was RPGTV and there was no presentation so he is back to the kennels before he has a chance to lay down. Dogs react in different ways to runs, and this dog clearly leaves everything on the track which you have to admire even more about the dog!

i see Scottys lot (Choral) are still going 4 places on the Derby, great spot if we can get the right dog to fill it, any ideas? Im leaning towards doing one of the outsiders in the 2nd semi, i think i like the look of Millwards Davy which is enhanced by Matty view on best drawn dog.

I have added Millwards Davy at 48 on the toaster yesterday.

Matty have u seen Stan James have got Vegas at 15.0 for the 1st semi, I know it's a tough heat but that's a cracking price isn't it? (Pp7.0, Bfsb 9.0 generally 11.0)

Yes but I don't think that he can win the race lol. I just hope he spoils it for Farloe Blitz at the first bend to be honest and my other 3 can get a run!!

The value Saturday night is Millwards Davy for his heat @ 14/1! (I think that's best price but can't see PP prices?).

Absolute huge value there.

I've had a tickle on Jaytee Berlin and also liked the run that See no Gamble done the other night when beating Ballymac Brogan, think the plate is really competitive, shows in the prices as well. Good.uck.

Yep i'm still trying to pick the winner.

Had the briefest of brief looks at Romford tonight and picked 3 out just for an interest in a little trixie :

7.31 Oscars Belle 3/1
8.50 Aero Liberty 11/8
9.06 Rahyvira River 7/4

Had a wee night out at Shawfield tonight with the other half.  I managed to find 4 2nd's and 3 winners,  Sadlly my bigger bets were on the dogs fnishing 2nd.

There was some whippet racing on as well whch was good to watch.

Excited for tonight! Desperate for a 1/3/5 finish in any order in the first semi!!

As for the Derby Plate I think Rab could have the treble up in the heats - not backed anything yet but closer to pulling the trigger.... Outside of Rab's 3 the other one that catches my eye is the first heat 'Romeo Ballistic' for Charlie.

Anybody any thoughts? How about the hurdles?

Ok decisions have been made, i've permed up the 3 Mcnair runners in the 3 heats of the Derby Plate - King Dec, King Alley and Coolemore Joe.

My outright selections for the Derby Plate and Champion Hurdle are ;

Coolemore Joe 12/1
Con Te Partiro 5/1

Singles and a double, not normally strong on hurdles but looks a pretty poor field this year and Con Te Partiro is standout 5/1 with Hills. Looks very big to me for a start he's a class above but secondly he is 10/11 best price for tonights heat and will be evens next week when he wins tonight. Wheelbarrow job as much as can be for hurdles!!

And let's not forget the Millwards Davy 14/1 (16/1 for Omm and his 888 account) single tonight too.

fancy diego flight to be suited by first semifinal. None of the dogs inside give an inch on the corners and think it could end up scrappy which would imo suit him, lacking the great starting pace. Not sure If Id back him to win as expect one dog may get gifted the race after trouble, but if they cause a bit of trouble hes been staying on huge late on.
