Bolton is the first stop this year in the GUKPT, and the festivals begins on the 18th January. I was thinking about getting the hotels booked, and wondered if anyone knows any decent ones there? Looking for ones which have wifi, are either a short walk or a short taxi ride away, and are generally a nice place to stay for a week! Thanks in advance, and hopefully see a few of you over there.

Holiday Inn.

I've been on the website, and it is available during the beginning of the festival, but not during the main event dates. Maybe it's already packed with poker players?

Any other suggestions?

I wish I could go to Melbourne instead! But, I think I may just have to settle for good old Bolton.

After some googling, I can't really find any decent hotels that fit the bill. My plan is to book the Holiday Inn for the beginning of the week, and either try to extend it for the whole festival or ask locals for their recommendations.

One of the reasons the Holiday Inn is booked up for the main event is because we have block booked about 50 rooms as the iPoker Network satellites now require a hotel room to be included. However, iPoker have been a bit tardy about getting these network satellites up and running so they may only kick in from leg 2 onwards. We will know tomorrow if they will be running any in advance of Bolton and will release a lot of these block booked rooms back to the hotel if we are not. I will report tomorrow on the situation, but if we do release some, they should be available to book direct with the hotel in a few days time.

Btw, the hotel we have block booked for iPoker qualifiers for leg 2 in Walsall is the excellent Village hotel.

Only the iPoker network satellites include a hotel, not the BSQ only ones.
