I checked the turn thinking the best I could hope for was for him to take a stab on river or call a bet with a one pair type hand (maybe I should bet the turn?)... do you just call the river bet, or stick in a raise?? Probs get paid by A4. A8 and other Ax hands? If we raise and get shoved on are you happy to call ??

Played 1 other hand with oppo, where i doubled up after making full house on the turn and him hitting nut flush on the river

Bet the flop, bet the turn, raise the river.

This is all far too passive, villian will call with worse on every street

With no reads, Bet flop, bet turn- river is closer to a fold than a raise- calling is infinitely better than raising

You missed alot of value from draws on the turn. Straight draws, flush draws, combo draws..

Call the river as in a tourney I don't want to be forced to fold

This isn't a decent cash or torny player we are talking about here he paid off an allin with the nutflush on a paired board. U think this guy will fold AK here in a $20 comp, No chance!. Defo raise the river for value, he wont shove unless he has you beat so if he does shove ez fold. I personally don't like the way you played the hand but now we've got to the river raise for value even if its a min-raise.

Why not?

River smashes hero's range, hero almost always has an ace and opponent bets so can probably therefore beat an ace. If he knows his bet looks strong, he will fold hands that we beat to a raise. He never folds better than T7.

How does oppo have any idea what hero's range is here?
BvB unraised and checked to the river and he bets more than the pot to steal with what?
Any ace? Definitely. Plus he may do with this with any 4 8 or indeed 7  (7 is unlikely though), or air.

What does he call with that we beat? A4, A8, 84, and a weaker 7 all of which fit his river bet.
Make it 1450 ?

how do you get that from hero's actions which so far have been preflop-check, flop-check, turn-check ? ? ? ?

The river is an overbet, people dont overbet thats as simple as it gets- not sure if people missed this or not

Ohhhhhh I did miss that tbh. Can't this be A8 or AK still though, I think it can! Makes a raise more thin though have to agree.
