He just maybe, but I know unless its been hyped big time a lot of you wont watch, it was first shown in 2008 and ive missed it until now, if it had been on a mainstream channel everyone would be talking about it...fans of quality tv should not receive the same fate....a fella who wrote a few books called Stephen King has this to say:

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20263453,00.html

"As a result, this modest basic-cable network is now broadcasting the best scripted show on TV. Your Uncle Stevie may not care much for Mad Men, but he has never seen anything like BB on the tube."

"It's like watching No Country for Old Men crossbred with the malevolent spirit of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

"Thank God for basic cable, if it can produce programming as strange and compelling as this. Breaking Bad invites us into another world, just as The Shield and The Sopranos did, but Walt White could be a guy just down the block, the one who tried to teach the periodic table to your kids before he got sick. The swimming pool with the eye in it could be right down the block too. That's exactly what makes it all so funny, so frightening, and so compelling. This is rich stuff."

The Event starts Friday night channel 4.

Assuming its already been shown in the states  - any of you downloaders already watched it?  worth it?

Decent enough so far

yup, been watching this. Quite good so far and possibly has the potential to be epic.

Poor reviews and falling fast in the ratings in the Usa, not going to bother...seems like the Networks are struggling to find a new blockbuster series like 24 and "Lost".

Watched the first 7 episodes of The Event after Rich practically tied me down to a chair (in a very manly, ungay way) and forced me to, and it is brilliant.

I can see why this comment might be applicable: "Many reviewers believed the average audience may not have the patience for this again after previous mystery shows" but i am not the average viewer, i love the mystery shows.

Watched the debut of Walking Dead last night and really liked it, it wasnt as good as one of the reviews posted on here but it was still pretty damned good.

Based on an awesome graphic novel. Cant wait to get stuck in.

My fave shows are 24, Breaking Bad and Dexter (tho this season is not so good), I like shows with twists and that are also unpredictable... my research has led me to Sons Of Anarchy, great reviews, but is it worth it as I dont really like the sound of the Hells Angles type story...

SOA season 1 usual slowish buildup, season 2 most exciting season of TV ever, season 3 absolutely terrible
