I mean the whole fish thing there is a big difference between a recreational player and a fish. I try to go in depth in hhs and obviousy a lot of the stuff would be wtf if I didn't signal they were a fish.
For example when I 5bet j3 against Merson it was because he flat vs a fish, there's lots of recreational guys he may flat AA with in that line up, but this particular guy he would always 3bet kk/aa.
I treat them with a lot of respect at the table, talk a lot, have fun, speak about life/poker but when doing a hh on a blog I think it's fine to say.
If people want to hide the fact there's fish in the games then sure I kind of guess that hit the reality is that people have to lose at a decent clip for us to be able to play this game professionally. I also think "Rec" gets overused a lot of at least in the wrong way. When people come up to me and explain that they are a "real (actually use the word) I often tell them "no you're not" because they usually use it in a way that is saying they aren't good.
I would still class somebody who plays recreational but is good as a reg. Eso kral for example, he has a job and is like 60 or something but if he was on my table id definitely consider him a reg.

I don't know what it is. Just those terms sound a little harsh. If I referred to a "fish" as a "shit player" would that be ok cos it's true?
I know you're not trying to be offensive when u use those terms btw- just not a fan of them

Neil Channing is absolutely brilliant at getting rec players relaxed at the table and then getting info from them.
"Is this your first WSOP event? Did you win a satty or just buyin?"
"It so great to be playing for such mindblowing sums of money isn't it? What si your biggest cash so far?"
"What position would you have to finish for the money to change your life?"
Etc etc and etc.
The rec thinks Neil is being friendly and encouraging (esp as Neil gets them to fold near the money so they lock up that all important min cash) but all the while Neil is gathering info which might be useful in hands later on.
Being silent and robotic is absolutely the wrong way to approach playing inexperienced players.

In my eyes yes, but wte it's no big deal. It is basically insulting their ability tho. Just think how would they feel if they read that? Massively naive to think ppl won't read btw.
And it was only a matter of time before someone massively exploited the free info you give way here and used it to cost you a huge amount of money.

Slept for 15 hours, really recharged the batteries. Soccer (fml that I calm it soccer instead of football now) tonight with Byron (guy I commentated on that won the 10k 6max) team. Should be pretty fun.
Can't explain how pumped I am right now though. I really don't care about the beats and the whatever run outs, all I care about is playing fucking awesome. It's so stimulating to realyl test yourself and really push yourself. The one thing is that post game analysis is very tough as you're unable to leak find etc.
There's very few good tournaments left, as in non standard ones. There's a 5k turbo, 3k 6max and then the main event.
I'm still not 100% about the one drop. I've sold the action for it etc, just totally depends how I feel on the day. Could have probably sold at Mark up and free rolled the whole thing. But I don't really like doing it like that.
Best friend comes here on July 1st so from then will play very little poker I guess.
Thinking about post vegas already, just being able to register so many tournaments in one day I'd really sick. Big, big props to all Americans who can't move out the country for whatever reason and keep their heads and mindset in the right track playing live poker it must be really tough, they have all my respect when previously I was just "lol live poker players"
Think I've learned a lot about myself and others on this trip, whatever happens it has been a success.
A friend told me btw that this guy who bluffed 33 May have read the blog or had info passed on to him regarding me potentially hero folding too much. Pretty sick of that's true.
This is pretty crazy. That hand is nuts. Love it when you post about this stuff and the thought processes.. So glad you didn't bin this diary
Have to assume he picked up some kind of live read on you there if he's decided to bluff jam the river. Have you spent much time looking at your own "tells"? Seems like a good way to improve in live poker if not.
You can use the fact that people read this blog/your twitter to feed misinformation if you want to.
I made Day 3 of the main a couple of years ago and found out 2 people on my table were reading my twitter feed.
So after a level when I got a bit aggro, I tweeted something like "huge rush in that level. AA 3 times and KK five times! Just a shame no one 3 bet me all level!"

3k 6max
Have amazing sleep. Get here, lost KK v A7 aip for 40bbs then grind back up. Get it in for really nice pot with Kjo vs T8 that c/r flop, bet/call all in on the turn on t98Q and he rivers a ten. I feel like ok trying to take these hands too well or something I'm not sure. Feels kind of ridic by maybe it's just normal. Incredibly annoying I guess. Not going to berate him or anything, think it's first time this summer I've just stood up and walked away without saying good luck. Wasn't intentional was just kind of in shock about this one, really expected to win it haha.

how you tag other players is as irrelevant as how those high stakes sickos tag you. Tag me anything you like, I don't give a single fuck. If we get offended or others get offended it means random people are determining how we feel about ourselves and that is a weak mentality for a poker player imo. The tag is merely a starting point to work out a strategy from and to that regard it's immensely useful to know exactly what that tag is, good or bad. As soon as people react emotionally to random opinion of their skillz it's time to buy a handbag imo.

Think I mentioned it before but have been invited to 3-4 private games around America from some huge whales that said I was the kind of guy that they would love in their games.
I hope this goes without saying but do not under any circumstances attend these games.
