So regarding the $50k a lot of people have messaged me about it. All the time during WCOOP I've seen regs playing way too high, guys who shouldn't be in the 250 6max in it, guys who shouldn't be in the second chances in them, friends reguarly playing in games that are way too high for them. I think about it every day and I just think playing the $50k would be a little hypocritical. I don't call these guys out or anything but to myself in definitely thinking that they are deluded. If I play the $50k maybe it's the same thing. I'm very good at a lot of things that don't apply in the $50k. I am very confident is be +ev but so are the guys who reguarly play the $320 6max and $109r.
Ego is such a big thing in poker and I need to make sure I don't fall into it. I need to be realistic yet confident but not arrogant or over confident. Basically if there is a super high roller in Barcelona which looks amazing, yes I will take a shot at it as a $1k but I shouldn't just be looking to play every super high stakes live MTT. A lot of those guys go broke and I don't want to be the guy who went broke so he could keep up his appearances. I want the community to respect me, to admire me and to think of me as one of the greatest but I want them to do this because of the good decisions and consistent winnings I make.
I really thought about it long and hard, but I think it's best that I skip it.
The one big thing about playing it is if I final tabled which wouldn't be super unlikely from a pure maths point of view, I'd gain a lot of wcoop leaderboard points. If it was in the last Sunday there is more chance I'd flick it in.
My tip for the tournament to win is Fedor btw.
Best post you have made yet
Might have to play it now. Congratulations on shootout FT.

Genuine question Patrick.... If you could only have either 20k or the trophy, which would you take.
Best of luck tonight

Are you playing many of the mixed games or just hold em/Omaha?

Good luck Pads. Almost tempted to stay up with you flying high in the 215r and Jason Somerville twitching from 2nd in the HORSE, but these structures probably mean you'll both still be going when I get up in the morning!
