Isn't Warner totally in Blatters pocket?
Whatever Sepp says he does.

Don't think we should ever bother bidding again and just be a pain in the arse to FIFA and Blatter whenever possible.............

On second thoughts, for 2026 we should put the Isle of Man forward as an entry and blatantly offer £10 million to each FIFA member for their 'support' just for a laugh to see if we could win it that way..........

Warner said on Friday (I think Friday) that he would only vote for us if we were likely to make it to round two otherwise his votes would go elsewhere

Wat? If England aren't going to make round 2, then there's no harm in him following through on his promise in round 1, safe in the knowledge he can switch to whoever else in round 2. What a clown he is.

I'm guessing the Olympics is just as dodgy so how come we bung them but don't here ?
I was split between wanting us or Spain to win it as going to Spain for a WC would've been incred.Obv no shock at amount of votes we got after Monday and everything before it.

guess the russians just didn't want the olympics as much as the wc panorama did the same thing just before the olympic votes exposing cash for votes

Just as well.
England's next hosting of a big football tournament needs to be a round number of years from '66 or re-release of Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds is going to sound silly.
52 years of hurt? It wouldn't have worked lads.

I'm just so disappointed by it all really.
Shit to FIFA, all completely bent.

Olympic Committee has over 100 people on it so the chances are greater of the best bid getting through.

wtf Qatar had less votes in round 2 than round 3.
isn't that how it should work? oops. I meant less votes in round 2 than round 1. In fact looking at it it's quite weird. Australia got knocked out in round 1 with only 1 vote but the next round votes were completely different. I guess if you know your original country is going to lose you might change, but for Qatar to lose a vote seems quite strange when they were 1 away from winning the thing.

The voting just makes no sense at all.
First Round
Russia - 9 votes Sportugal - 7 votes Nelgium - 4 votes England - 2 votes
England get eliminated, and they vote again. So the two that voted for England must reselect, and you would assume that the other 20 would vote for the bid they thought was the right one about 15 mins before.
However
Second Round
Russia - 13 votes Sportugal - 7 votes Nelgium - 2 votes
Two of the original Netherlands/Belgium voters jump ship to Russia. Why not just vote for Russia in the first place ?
And the 2022 vote was even stranger. Both Qatar and Japan got less votes in Round Two than they did in Round One.
Is the executive committee that old and senile that they keep forgetting who they voted for fifteen minutes prior ?

If Russia was their second choice they may as well change their vote in round 2 when it becomes apparant that netherlands/belgium aren't going to win. The Qatar one though really is bizzare. They're about to win so someone apparantly changed their minds and voted for someone else? Don't see why you aren't forced to keep your first choice and only the eliminated voters are allowed to change.
