I like Jol and think he'd be a good appointment but I think there is always doubt as who was responsible for the signings at Spurs. Not necessarily a bad thing as I think they overpaid for some players but Jol blamed Comoli for the bad signings and Comoli took credit for the good ones.

Not really shocked by this. If Ashley was going to go with Hughton he would have offered him a contract at the start of the season. I can only guess that his relationship with the players was too casual and Ashley didn't like his man-management. Or perhaps sponsorship opportunities were affected by his low profile, but if that is the case I hardly think Pardew remedies that.

Surely he has someone lined up, all signed and sealed? You don't get rid of Hughton without having the next guy all ready to start, so I would have thought the speculation would have been done and dusted by now. They could write a film about NUFC, oh they already have...

Mine wasn't a rub - I actually quite like Newcastle and having them in the Premiership. Just think you've had some bonkers owners and it's frustrating for the fans (and I know how that feels).
