Obviously aware that work has been done looking at the 'most efficient' property sets etc. but do any geeks itt know if it was as simple as forecasted ROI of the properties? From memory the Oranges are the 'best' set, right? Owing largely to the presence of Jail 6,7 and 9 spots back I would have thought.
My question is....did the work that was done take into account strategic and temporal advantages? Basically I have always sworn by the light blues, even over the oranges, owing to their lower set up cost essentially.
Thoughts? (in before 'get a life')

Light blues > Dark blues
Obv.
However, I'm an oligarch trapped in a poor man's body, so I buy everything and build an empire quickly, savage the opposition by prohibitive negotiation and mount a campaign of merciless developments, destroying anything that gets in my way.
I imagine this is how Isuldur1 plays monopoly

In fact there are loads of sites out there talking about probabilities and taking it further and looking at expected ROI for the different groups. Some say Orange and Red are the clear ones to go for, others say there's a high-risk strategy of getting the Greens that can prove crucial.

Too expensive to develop.
Old Kent Rd to Pentonville Rd.
Buy cheap, build cheap & early. Get rich, keep the opposition poor.

Last time we played someone got the credit card version. What a massive ballache that proved to be.
My missus refused to trade any properties which meant a stalemate was hindering any progress for both of us. She is a nightmare to play against and always goes on opposite teams to me.
We ended up calling it a night after about 5 hours as the credit card transactions were taking forever.

You only need one of those. Then, it is simply a question of your business acumen as to how you screw everyone else.
