Read the most hilariously tilting article by Roberto Romanello in a magazine yesterday. It's in a section called "using your image" or something like that and Roberto takes us through two hands that "helped him" to win that 2k wpt side event in Prague.

The first hand he describes like this. "Blinds are 100/200 and there's a raise and a caller and I make it up from the blinds with QTo. The flop comes K73 rainbow and I check, the original raiser bets out and gets a caller and I check raise to 1950. I expect a bluff to work almost everytime on a dry board like this. They both folded and I "accidentally" flipped over my QT."

So that's the "setup" and now for the sting.......

"The same guy raises and I call from the blinds with 33. I have a plan for when I hit my set and as planned the flop comes T73. I bet 1950 again, I knew he'd put me on a steal and knew he'd call. The turn came a King and I bet again and he paid me off with KT. If I hadn't shown the bluff before i think he would've gotten away from it"

REALLY? He would've folded his top pair K kicker on the flop? Or on the turn when he had top two?! REALLY?!! Yes you're image got you paid there, wp.

fair play to him for having such a successful 12 months but when I've seen him play he usually looks out of his depth against the good UK guys.

I do think his table talk is probably very good for him.

Oh, and LOL at the article.

thing to remember about Roberto is that he doesn't come from a technical background with poker. I believe almost all his poker experience comes from big-buyin, big-field events, where his results are, understandably very good.

Not sure Id leap to buy a piece of him in a tough line-up cash game (not that he'd need to sell!) but there are PLENTY of "sicko's" id crossbook him against in a 450runner $5k event.

Titbeam's views are inevitably going to be somewhat controversial

not that I know of. I just remember being in Prague with him when Roberto shipped that comp and he went on a funny rant about live poker players like roberto.

Not like Titty to have a rant, is it?

PS - Hope he gets the lot today, failing that, 2nd to Dan.

Apologies to you, Alex for my bad timing yesterday.

After you came to rail/abuse me when I was all-in with my suited connectors, I wandered across to your Table - last report was you had 60k - & blathered on for a few moments, before realising you had just been the wrong end of a car crash. My timing was up to the usual standard, ofc.

I was cheering in the two hearts for you! Yes, Tikay was allin with 32 and he won!

no problem, I was waiting the moment when you realised that I had 1 big blind left!

I don't want to be Durr, I want to be Alex, & play Rach 2 on the piano, sing carols, & crush the croquet.

Anyway, its not the hand, its how you play it, & against whom.

I had the button, position, & image. How could he call with A-8?
