Do you not think a shop that took more then expected and didnt work on this is exactly like what a hundreds of ex winning pokers players have fallen trap to? And eventually these buisnesses will fall into this trap? Wouldnt you say the most successful buisnesses are the ones that book a good weeks profit and then coming back next week with higher targets and try and smash these also? exactly in the same way a poker player should work?

This isn't how poker does work though, the whole point is that the process is examined, not the results

I realize it isn't logical, but it's how it should be that being said everyone is human and when you suffer the relentless emotional swings of a life gambling, when you have a bit of good luck and have a nice run I think it's important to have a little sit back and wonder at how nice it feels, cos you have plenty of times where it doesn't feel good. People always say winning never feels as good as losing does bad. I don't agree with this.

Took me a while but managed to look through most of this diary. Very good read, I would love to be able to escape my 9-5 job and grind for a living.

I was a little worried about what the food would be like here, following some a couple of awful meals in Medellin, I couldn't see how this remote area could be any better, and feared it might spoil my chances of being 100% in love with the place.

No chance. The hotels all inclusive service is the absolute business, had an amazing dinner last night of strips of beef covered in melted cheese with roasted peppars and onions (will get a photo when I order it again tonight!) and this was todays breakfast (proceeded by an obligatory bowl of Frosties Cheesy)

Yumm.

This morning I set about exploring the area, sun creamed up, and set off walking. I walked towards the big rock that is the main attraction of the area (even though clearly its surroundings are far more beautiful), I hadn't planned to climb up it because it looked very far away, but before I knew it I was close enough that I thought I might as well.

659 very steep, gruelling steps later (took about 10 minutes, the lady at the bottom said it would take 20, no big deal) and we're there

This is the view of my hotel, quite the location isn't it?

Pretty inspiring stuff. On my down I saw a school

I taught in Kenya for about 3 months when I was 19 and loved it, maybe I could do some volunteer work here whilst I'm here? Trouble is my spanish is so useless that I don't know how useful I'd be to them. I might go and talk to one of the teachers and see if there's anyway I could help out - I'd love that. Would need to prepare a "speech" first, any one a Spanish pro that could help me out with a few sentences? I do speak the universal language of FUTBOL so maybe I could just have a kick about with them lol.

Going to grind hard in the afternoons so I don't feel piggish about spending £90 a night on this hotel, plus there isn't much to do here, and the thought of grinding in this suite in the sunshine overlooking the lake and trees is nothing short of paradise in my book.

Awesome pics and location Alex.

I'd be snap getting hold of a canoe and spending as long as it takes to explore all those awesome looking nooks and crannies.

Vbol with the trip

As someone who loves to wander and explore I am extremely jealous

Went to grab a spot of lunch just now (It's 2pm here) and since I knew I'd be eating a big meal later I thought I'd order something light. Hmm can't really see many light options, I guess I'll go with fish over meat, can't be too heavy then.

You open it up and inside there's all sorts of goodies - shrimp, mushrooms, ham, delicious!

Now I'm totally stuffed, doubt I'll be able to manage 2 meals like that a day! Mitch and Stato would love it here!

I forgot to mention the starter. A very weird dish they bring you without you asking for it.

The fruit is nice, but it's mixed with salad and bizarelly, this sauce, which I swear is sweet chilli sauce, but it's green! Feel rude because I barely eat any of it (except the bits of fruit that haven't had contact with the sauce).
