Fml 2 hours sleep and now I'm wide awake again. Really want to be fresh tomorrow. Today was a very tiring day. Played really great disciplined tournament poker which I was really happy with. One bluff at the end didn't work and may be really spewy not sure. Other than that absolutely no regrets and really happy with my play. Ran good imo not to get many suited connectors to tempt me into spewing pre. Was running pretty hot in the first level, and getting myself paid. Up to 20k early on, then lost with AA against KK allin on a Thigh board to go down to 9k. Flopped a dblegutter straightflush draw and trebled up with 95hh vs a set and KK which was pretty sweet.
Then get moved to a pretty tough table full of active big stacks on my left but was still crushing pretty hard. Had about 35 when avg was 20. Lost a flip to go down to 20k and then doubled up in the following hand.
Raise from UTG +1, I peel with 66, flopped another 6 so I had three in total on an A96 board so was pretty happy. He checked, I checked behind. He fired a K turn for 4k into 5k pot. I flatted with 17 behind. He snap shoved a K river which put me all in. 17k into a 13k pot. What value hands do I beat here?! Thought for a while (I warned him I might be massively nitrolling) but seriously, he has AA, KK, AK or 99 here or a bluff right? I thought maybe KQ KJ as well. Anyway I called it off and he said your good and mucked.
I can't remember how I went down to 30k from there but then had a great hand vs Jon Lundy (blondeite apparently). He raised UTG (had raised last 3hands I think). I peeled
in late position. I think one of the blinds called. He cbet a
flop I called. He fired again on a
turn. I called. He checked a
river. I had 17k left and he had maybe 15k and the pot was a bit less maybe 11k (Details are hazy). I decided that I'd play AQ, KJ, KT, and all sets exactly the same way if I shoved here and thought his range was almost entirely one pair hands that'd had to fold if I shoved. I hadn't got out of line at all before this point, although I think he suspected I was capable of doing so. I clicked the arrrinnn button and while he was thinking, I was abs bricking it! Don't remember ever being that nervous whilst bluffing before. My heart pumping like a mofo - the adrenaline was sick, I loved it! Unforunately he called it off and I tapped the table saying something like "you're good". He said "I have a one pair hand" and seemed like he wasn't going to show until I showed so I just flipped over my QT and was thrilled to hear "that's good". He showed 95dd!
I was really enjoying the comp.
