you think they'll get 1/2+ running most nights?

No, not at all. But there's a 2/5 game on a Monday night were trying to get started if your interested?

I thought you were posh Alex?

Posh kids go to expensive, snobby schools that teach their pupils the difference between 'your' and 'you're'; or is it just a ruse to hide the fact that you are good at poker despite going to the local comprehensive?

I went to a posh school, and despite my impeccable grammar it didn't do much else for me, other than make me unbearably cynical (and able to make hero calls with bottom pair).

Actually, you do sound posh so I believe you.

It's looking really great and it's head and shoulders above Gala.

Agree. I like walking in to a casino and not feeling like I'm going to be mugged or sexually assaulted.

Where is the casino I can get sexually assaulted?

Played two hands of note last night, I played both fairly unusually. 50/1 Cash at DTD (no 1/2 going all night Sad)

Button limps to my £2 straddle, sb and bb both limp I had   and I'd usually just check here of course, but everyone in the hand looked so weak and disinterested I thought a large squeeze would work a very high % of the time, if I happened to get peeled, I'd most likely be in position with the initiative. Alright my hand is shit, but it can flop top pair sometimes... fairly spewy but hey, i decided i wanted to win that pot.

I raise to £20 everyone folds but the sb who is an indian gentlemen whom I do not believe plays poker professionally. We flop a total airball on and he checks. I cbet £25 and he calls. Uh oh. Give up time probably. This guy doesn't look like he likes to fold. The turn is a giving us second pair and the Qhigh flush draw. He shoves £150! :S hmmm. The pot was about 95 so its 1.5x pot. It doesn't seem at all likely I'm behind here, I thought. If for some bizarre reason he has played a 9 in this way or has turned two pair then I'm about 20-25% to improve vs those hands. I started chatting to him and got the impression he didn't care about the money much, and I think I'd heard somewhere that he'd been doing his nuts on this table, reloading for £200 each time. I felt his range was super weak pre. When the 6 comes and he shoves, I put him on 34, 47, 57, 67 with or perhaps without a diamond. Also I thought 5x 4x with a big diamond, maybe sort of hand.

So I went with my read and called it off and held vs his Smiley That was one of the more satisfying hands of poker I've played for a long while.

A really sick one happened later on. I'd just lost £150 vs Frankie with on  Two Clubs three clubs where I got it in dead to the , that was fun. Next hand a bunch of people limp again on the £2 straddle, I'm in the SB and make it £22 with . Two callers. One is the villain from the previous hand with the 57. He has £6 behind. The other is a gala reg called Ryan. He and I are both about 400 deep.

I checked. I wanted to see how Ryan responded to the Indian guys £6 shove so I could get a read of his hand strength. Indian guy shoves, Ryan flicks it in, doesn't look strong. I c/r to £35 to a) protect my hand vs draws b) get value from worse hands c) define his range better. . He calls. Hmmmm...still think I'm way ahead of his range here.

Turn is a . Now I can confidently bet for value. I bet £50 he calls fairly quickly. But he looks sort of reluctant about it. Like he has to keep calling. Hmmm, I have seen him play AK weird before, just limping. Seemed like he either had a massive draw, or he had a strong Two pair or a set from the manner of his call on the turn. I'm confused now. Cos I didn't think he had a set or two pair on the flop...

River was the Two Clubs. A nice massive brick. I check. He looks at the main pot, glances at the side pot, then bets £100. He looks fairly relaxed now, he doesn't make big bluffs very often. I couldn't work it out though. On the flop he wasn't strong, I was sure of it. The turn he looked more confident. Maybe or something. Or maybe I've just got my read wrong and he was tarrrping me all the way. I sigh folded and he showed ! So sick! Such a sick turn card, it's like the only card I continue on...

Anyway, not sure about my flop c/r really, cos it's swelled the pot and I'm out of position and I didn't really have a good plan on most turn cards. As it happens I felt I turned the best card in the deck but it happened to be the one card in the deck that lost me more money! Funny how this games works like that sometimes.

+70 for the night. Only played 4.5 hours so not bad going.

No worries Rob - I didn't think you'd backed out or anything. I'll be in tonight.
