Tony thinks he's cultured because he has his lunch while I'm having my dinner.

Had really good day off, well sort of day off. Played more hands than a usual day, but played them in my pants which was actually pretty enjoyable for a change. Only played an hour or so - Bwin 4/5 handed 200nl, won about 800 which was maybe why I enjoyed it so much. I've never played cash online >100nl  so was a new experience and maybe playing for decent money is what kept my interest. I've always lost interest after a few weeks of grinding small stakes, maybe I'll stick to it this time - or at least manage to play a bit each day to earn an few hundred bucks here and there, would be good.

Didn't manage to score any points for team red hat in the first comp of the las Vegas challenge, George came 5th to get is off to a good start though Smiley

Was he the only point scorer for the team? How are your housemates getting on, not heard much about them for a while?

Wtf is 200nl?

It's 1/2 online, where the buy in is capped at 200.

Alex,

I think it's good that you post how you feel, the best diaries are "warts & all".

Yeh, part of me wants to be this cool "Keith Johnson" sort of character (he paid me to write that) who doesnt care about losing and takes everything in his stride. He's right, it's quite intimidating playing against someone so unaffected by variance. But thats not me and this is a diary so I'll include the "warts" even if every time I do I comments like

Didn't you win the monte Carlo? Or

Lollivepros

Ive always suspected I was cool, now you've just confirmed it! As a reward ill defend you about big Mike.  Heres a hand i played with him later that night:

Mike limps UTG, i raise to 30 with  .
Flop is  - I bet 50 mike raises to 150, I call.
Turn is  .  Mike bets 300 with about 400 back.   Now im thinking Urghh i cant possibly be good here versus his range - also his hand was trembling when he bet - a sure fire sign he was strong.
Then i thought hang on a sec i have two pair here and that ranks quite high up the hand rankings chart so i shoved.  Mike snapped (sigh!)
The river was  .  (super sigh).  Mike tables  for a split pot!

So don't feel too bad about the AJ play and dont let the carrot topped chubby funster from Derby get you down.
