Was that your Scottish Chinese guy? the cash up here is very different, less pre flop action than DTD so this kind of pot builder raise is common place! however bad it may be!

yeh that was him

He is pretty good, top of the tournement leader board up here and winning cash player! just needs to adapt to the play! and take the sunglasses off

anyways, love the heater report! keep it up

He played a huge pot vs Stevie last night.

I wasn't in the hand so the details are hazy, but they went mulitway to the flop which was T23hh, Stevie was in the blinds checked, OR checked, checked to the scottish dude who bet like 40, Stevie c/raised to 110ish. He called, Stevie bet a Q turn about 150, and he shoved for 900, Stevie called, river was a low heart, Stevie's JTo was good :S The scottish dude showed a Ten...

Have fun at the Dogs, it's always a good idea to do something to get away from poker every so often! I hadn't played for a couple of months before this weekend and when i got back felt great about playing for the first time in ages!

The downside to running like this (and I think I can live with it) is that it's really pissing off my friends! Most of them are running really bad atm and it's just getting ridiculous when I'm sat next to one of them in a juicy game, and they're getting bummed and I'm just getting all the cake.

Probs the toughest thing about being a live cash reg IMO.
It's inevitable that you will be pretty close to about half of the people in the game (at least), and not all of you can win, all of the time.

The main challenge is to stay tough about it, and to avoid playing anything but your best game against mates who are having a bad time.

If they are rolled for the game, and good enough, it won't be an issue for them, in the long term.
If they are not rolled / not good enough, much better to tell them this, away from the table, than go easy on them, in game.

It's not relevant to you though, as one of your main strengths seems to be playing at, or near, your best, in a range of different games / circumstances.

Well done on the heater, but don't put it all down to run good.

Dogs was so fun! Loved it.

For £17 we got a table overlooking the track and a 4 course meal. A lady came round before every race and you could place bets with her (these seemed pretty fishy and not good value), we did side bets amongst ourselves, there was 12 of us and we paired up and each backed a random dog.

For the last couple of races we went down to the track and placed some bets with some of the random bookies that were down there with a white board and laptop, changing the prices every 10 seconds, was cool. Had no idea what was going on really and just punted money in blindly, think I came out about even or down a small amount. Hannah won £3.50 and was over the moon!

Was really really fun, definitely going to do it again. Loved sweating the races and cheering them on and it's just a good night out, bit different, have some beers, all have a laugh - it's great.
