This isn't a moan in anyway, it's a reporting of the facts as this is a diary! I've had two of the worst sessions of MTTs I've ever played. Saturday was the worst ever and it's not even close, and today was really brutal but not quite as bad. I played terrible in the deepstack for gg 2x £500 bullets, but played really well online across the weekend but got battered over and over. It wasn't financially the worst ever, but emotionally it was really tough. Loving the game difficult at times!

Luckily I softened the blow winning £3k over the weekend in two short cash sessions at DTD but I lost £1.3k in tournament buyins at DTD and about £2.5k online so defo down for the weekend + jack and PJ both knocked it in.

Can't wait to go to Prague now. Also wanna go back to Tallinn Tongue

I find this whole lovingthegame thing interesting, do you really think you do actually lovethegame ? I definitely don't think you do, and neither do I (not saying this coz I'm on an actual downswing  Wink). I love what the game has giving me, but that's a very different thing. I like playing poker for many reasons but I don't love it, it's a brutal game and we just happen to be the small % of fortunate ones that do alright at it, you a little bit more than me Tongue

I think there's very few people who lovethegame, like maybe 2 people on all of blonde lovethegame, imo.

I play poker for a living because I love the freedom it allows me more than anything and I'm not that bothered about money, so as long as I'm happy and surviving (easy rubs there) I will keep doing it. I think you need a bit more than that though, as we spoke about in Marbellaaaaa.

Not having a pop at you btw, glad you are crushing it but just was planning to post about this on my diary but was waiting until I was crushing myself so I didn't seem like it was just a bitter rant, cba to wait that long though.

I love the game. Love playing it, love the fact that when I'm playing the game I can shut out all the 'real world' distractions and just be in the moment.
I love the problems it poses and the satisfactions it brings when a hand plays out as planned. 3 bet and bet three streets vs Frankie on Saturday with a shove on the river that brought a very reluctant fold. Love the fact that he's still not sure he was right. Didn't enjoy busting four live tourneys in two days without a win, but still love the game.
I don't know that I'd love it if I depended on it for my income though.

I don't know Alex, but reading this thread he certainly gives the impression of loving the game as well as the life style. Maybe loving it is too strong, but surely you have to at least like it a lot to be as successful as the like of Alex and Monda at it? When running bad I have on a couple of occasions just got sick of it and gone and done something else for a month or so and came back to it feeling fine. Professional players can't really do this so I am guessing there has to be something to get them through it all? The game is Brutal sometimes for sure. I think Alex has addressed this point on here before. The lifestyle it gives probably helps a lot.

I think I love the game! There's moments where I'm sure I do, and moments when I hate it. I'd be interested to ask my friends "who loves the game the most/least and rank our group". I genuinely think I'd be pretty high up.

There's definitely an element of just loving what it's done to my life - loving the lifestyle it's given me - I guess that's different from loving the game itself.

But remember this?!

I love the live game. Less keen on the online game (not for "ugh it always comes" reasons; just because I derive little enjoyment from playing against avatars compared to real people).

Apart from not being very good, this would be a valid secondary reason for not going pro Smiley
