Loving the Blog Alex, more love stories and missing cat stories please. Seems I'm your biggest backer out there so get it won please. glgl
I'll try my best. To be honest, poker reports don't really do much for this thread in my view. People like the trip reports, the stories, the generally flavour of the lifestyle.
People seem to hate both long winded hand histories / analysis, "brags" about get the lot, or "moans" about losing. You can't really win, and I don't really feel like doing it anymore.
For example I played some 5/10 today and lost 2k. How shall I phrase it?
Shall I shrug it off like it meant nothing to me? "Played some cash, was really fun, the game was great but lost 2k, never mind, always another game
"
Or shall I say how I actually feel about it?
Can't see the point in either. So I'll stick to the missing cat stories and romantic escapades from now on!
ha, i used to/still do sometimes write a blog. Not in this style but it would kinda include all the stuff u mention. Was pretty popular and i had the fans boys and some really horrid haters lol. It got to me sometimes but in the end
it was my diary warts n all and i just write wtf i wanted.
Who gives a shit? glgl
Couldn't agree more.
What they said, continue writing what YOU want to write Alex

Q2 - You are pretty open about different things, poker, money, lifestyle, so wondering how horses are generally doing here?
Don't want you to feel like I'm picking on you here mate, but i think just about the only thing Alex shouldn't talk about is his staking, and general state of horses/makeup etc. Al can obviously be as lax or as tightlipped about his own finances, but it would be a little bit presumptuous to be posting about horses as well!

Interesting point about horses, obviously we hear about it when they are winning etc, so it is discussed however alex also mentions many a times that they are part of his downswing, i mentioned a ehile back whether numbers should be in the monthly figures but i think it was discussed and decided that it is pointless.
However on the point of horses a question i would like to ask, im unsure if youll feel uncomfortable answering so feel free to ignore but i genuinly would be interested in the answer.
From what i hear/follow those you stake are friends/housemates/team mates and generally good companions of yours. My question is are they the most EV horses you could find or is it more your friendship that assisted your decision to stake. Are there not other players out there with better records live and online that you could stake but choose not to due to being outside your friendship circle?
Also does the closeness affect your decisions financially, for example everyone is knocking it in, some are performing below expectations and you want to end the deal, however you feel it could affect friendship so keep staking etc? I may be wrong but feel that if i was that close to my horses id struggle to cut them off etc without affecting our relationship.
Also you made your bankroll by your own skill so by staking and having to sell chunks of yourself seems a stranger decision than dropping the staking. I understand there is makeup etc but that could never end.
Regardless gl in Prague either way and i look forward to seeing a reply.

I disagree Alex has been grumpy at all, obviously he busts a tourney with 41k ftw in 17th place losing a 80.20 he;s going to be tilted, what do we expect him to be doing cartwheels even if he has £750k in the bank that's still going to be annoying for an hour or so. I'd say I think Alex handles losing amoungst the best I know really, and kudos to him for that, no offence Aaron I think you're a bit of a legend but i feel you might be trying to get a bit of a bite out him there...
R.E staking I think he shoudln't talk about it, if Alex wishes to disclose his own personal performance then that's up to him - I don't think it's bragging either as he's been open and honest when he's had £1500 to his name and struggling through and the theme of this diary has always been open honesty then fair enough it's his right, discussing how others are doing (even if HE backs them) is OOL imo and he's behaving perfectly correctly by only talking about stuff that concerns him and him only.
Truth of the matter is Alex has opened himself up to a lot of exposure and whereas he's made profitable decision he's put himself in a spot where he's going to downswing kinda hard when it comes, as much as we might all believe that spreading the eggs means they'll never all get broken at the same time, whereas this is true to a certain extent what it means also is that when it goes badly you'll have a lot of broken eggs to clean up, luckily his aptitude to risk and ability to handle wins and losses is very good so I've no doubt it will be abso fine.
besides, downswings are kinda fun lol if you don't know what i mean then you've never had one big enough

Yeah, agree. But I know Alex likes to talk about different things, so would have been a different route to go down and discussing point.
I did say be doesn't need to answer what I said, if he doesn't want too
PS- I know you're not having a go, don't worry

There is a Monte Carlo at Dtd next week. You can back Wadey Rastafish and yourself, at the expense of your 3 least profitable horses. Would you do it?
